    Description

Sointula is a small village, on a large island. My home is on a waterfront property, with two additional, smaller dwellings, one of which would be the private sleeping quarters for my Workaway guests. Just blocks from the ferry, stores, cafes, and the post office. Marine life at your doorstep! Orca, Humpback, and Minke Whales. Otters, Sealions, and all manner of birds.

Sointula is an historic Finnish village, much to be learned about the original Finnish settlers, as well as the current residents. I am a member of the local Marine Mammal Research group here, and can educate travellers as to how to have a spectacular experience, esp with the orcas that frequent the area.

A stand alone, private sleeping cabin, directly on the beach, will be provided. The cabin, the one with the magenta door, has heat and wifi, but no running water. Workers use the guest facilities in the main house. A handy outdoor kitchen, & shower, are part of the help plan.
