  • Description

Our all inclusive adults-only resort is situated between the rainforest and the beach in Bocas Del Toro, Panama on a beautiful secluded island, 35 minutes from Isla Colon. We like our guests to experience what it is like to be totally immersed in both nature and luxury.

We are as eco-friendly as possible, creating organic compost, harnessing rainwater and growing our own fruit and vegetables as much as is feasible. We work closely with the local indigenous people, and our staff (from 10 to 20) is made up entirely of residents from the surrounding outer island villages. You will be the only expatriate workers, together with the Canadian owners.

You will have the opportunity to interact with and assist our local indigenous workers in any area where you have an aptitude and interest. They are all residents of the outer islands, and they speak both their native Ngobe language and Spanish.

We have several different types of rooms, each kept to the highest standard, from luxury ocean-view suites to garden lodges, each room is beautifully furnished and we pride ourselves on providing a quality experience for our guests. As well as a high standard of accommodation we have a fresh water pool, swim-up pool bar, beach bar, clubhouse, indoor bar and restaurant. We provide DVDs, kayaks, snorkeling/fishing gear, books and we even have a Karaoke machine and Netflix for our guests to enjoy on those rainy tropical days!

We are very close with the local villagers to ensure a true Panamanian experience. You will have the chance to practice and learn Spanish, as well as the local dialect. You can learn how the islanders live, as well as learning how we make use of what the rainforest provides. We harvest wild vegetables straight from the jungle itself, so you can learn about and taste the local food such as Yucca, Dachine, Coconut and Plantains.

If you have practical skills (decorating, painting, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, electrical etc) you will have the opportunity to help out with the myriad of tasks that are required to keep a hotel running smoothly, in a remote setting between beach and rainforest.

  • Help

We are currently looking for a couple or volunteers who are friends, in order to be able to share a room with en-suite bathroom. The help will be assisting the existing staff with the day-to-day running of the hotel. You will have the chance to learn about helping in various roles at our hotel, with the goal of providing the best experience for our guests.

In exchange for five hours per day helping, you will receive your own private double bedroom and bathroom, along with three meals a day prepared by yourselves or our chef. Water and juice are provided, but we ask that you supply your own alcohol and that you do not drink during your volunteering hours. We have a laptop available for general use and good internet signal.

There will be opportunities to travel to Isla Colon and Bocas Town by boat when we do supply runs or have guests to pick up, there will also be the chance to accompany guests on some of our day tours to the neighbouring islands and beaches.

We are looking for a responsible, well presented, experienced adult or couple who understands that sometimes you will be required to help out elsewhere in the running of the resort and help closely with our guests and other staff. We are an Adults-Only resort, this means that sometimes we host private lifestyle retreats and large groups of similar minded people. When we have such retreats and groups staying, a high level of professionalism is expected.

English-speaking is a must and there will be opportunities to learn Spanish and also the local island dialect if you choose!

We work together as a big family here and this means that often the tasks can be shared depending on how busy we are. There are lots of little jobs to do in helping in the day to day running of the place, helping to keep our standards high and our guests happy.

We are looking for someone who can stay a minimum of three weeks, with the possibility to extend. This gives both you and us the chance to get to know one another, and for you to enjoy the experience fully.

It is worth noting that we are fairly remote, there are no local shops, bars or restaurants nearby, but we do have the most beautiful white sandy beach, acres of gardens and lots of facilities to use in your 'down time'. The sunrise from our dock is one of the best views in Bocas. This really is an amazing place to stay and experience life in tropical Panama.
