  • Description

This is a project out of dreams and visions that put me as close as possible to nature and to make the ranch one day become a model-school.

My dream, my vision is to eventually become totally sustainable while involving the local or global community and perhaps one day proof to the system that as closer to nature and while using sustainable practices we can live a wonderful life in the desert between the mountains and sea under the stars...

We try to leave no trace into nature and recycle everything we can. At the moment we exchange aluminum cans for diesel for the truck of the ranch...
We are located in the dry landscape of Baja California Sur, Mexico.
I'm dedicated to Goat's Cheese making and the ranch counts with 60 goats, 1 horse, 1 bull, like 13 chickens that give us daily eggs for breakfast or any meal, and of-course our guardians 3 lovely dogs.
Most of our goats are female producing milk for nice cheese making...It is a rustic ranch though beautiful ranch life, between mountains, desert and the sea.
At the moment we live with solar energy, we heat our water with the sun, eventually our source of gas will be a Bio Bolsa (gas energy produced by the waste of our animals).
We are working with the Mexican government to provide us with the enough technology for green hydroponic plantation as a complement of our goats diet without forgetting all the land we have, where we can grow corn and alfalfa. Thanks to the Universe we have plenty water.
At the Ranch we have enough space for you to install your tent or share a camping car or room with all facilities, outdoor kitchen, firewood oven, shower and a lot of peace..
Mountains and sea are here. It all depends in your passion...
I'm a lover of good bread, wine and cheese and even if we cook in an outdoor kitchen with wood we find in the mountains meals are always great...come and help in the kitchen process and surprise us with your own recettes. Making bread is a passion, perhaps with your help real bread will be re-born.

You can learn how to take care of our lovely goats and how to milk and make delicious cheese! And of course how to make a nice, traditional wood oven-bread.
In our daily working life on the ranch you will also learn about sustainability and using the resources of your environment.

  • Help

You are expected to participate mostly in the goat feeding, milking and walking with the goats.
But any other hand is thanked as planting and watering all the already plants.

Hours are mostly in the morning and afternoon. Probably from 8:00 to 11:00 and in the afternoon from 17:00 to 18:30 for feeding and milking. Mornings are longer due to milking process. All the other tasks can be self organized. The amount of help also depends on the number of volunteers. More people, less work! :)

Cheese making is an option and if interested in learning the process, you are most welcome.
We need Volunteers at any time and you are welcome to stay and help at your pace and schedule, but at least for a period of three weeks to six months. If you like it here, time is no limit.
At the ranch we speak: Spanish, English, French, Italian, and Japanese.

In your time off you can go hiking in the mountains, you can go to the beach and enjoy the dramatic landscape.
As we are in the middle of the desert there is no public transport to La Paz, but usually there will be possibilities to visit the city from time to time.
