Description
Kia ora, I live in sunny Thames, on the Coromandel Peninsula - there are lots of local walks, rivers, beaches and art. I am a teacher by day and in weekends and free time I am working hard to improve my property. So I am looking to meet skilled decorators that can work along side me to assist me with the final stages of my DIY project and also when I am at my day job people who can work independently. I can offer great company, local knowledge of the Coromandel area and an awesome place to stay!

I love meeting people and learning about culture and what life is like for others. Including, cultural practices, food, art and environment.
Help
Painting and decorating, some handyman repair, gardening, removing used building materials. I will work with you when I am not at my day job.
There is no expectation that volunteers will be asked to do any dangerous tasks and I am fully open to negotiating the tasks with the workawayer/s - you will not be expected to work on tasks without prior discussion and agreement.
There is one building job that can be done by a carpenter with the right skills - the roof on the outdoor seating area does need repair. Otherwise, other tasks can be taken on by the workawayer/s - it would depend on their level of skill and as I have said - all tasks to be negotiated prior to commencing. Ngā mihi nui :)Languages

English: Fluent
Maori: BeginnerThis host offers a language exchange
I am keen to learn language and help to share what I know about Maori/English, however, when all else fails there is google translate to help with communication and ensure that we don't get lost in translation :)Accommodation
I can offer a furnished room. There is space for a motorhome or van. There is space for a tent.
As food needs can be varied, in my view food should really be the responsibility of everybody and not part of your working exchange, we are all adults and should take responsibility for our own food needs, health and nutrition. Having said that, I am happy to do shared meals with guests if it works out with our time schedules, as this can be a really nice way of connecting and learning about each other. I am equally happy to do our own thing in this regard because our time schedule or individual food needs may not allow. I am relaxed about how this works and as long as the guests are ok about this too and are happy to be flexible and take on self responsibility in this regard then we will be on the same page.
You will get accommodation and use of facilities in a nice home in a great location, with friendly and accommodating house mates. There are lots of local recreational activities that you can build into your stay, negotiating your working exchange time and using my place as a base while you check out the local activities in Thames and region. What else ...
There are loads of options in the Coromandel including activities on bush walks, Sleeping god canyon, hot water beach, rivers and sea. Markets and art trails.
