Description
i live in a cottage into a 4 acres land, situated in the heart of the most beautiful natural park of Preveli and Kourtaliotis Kanyon, protected area Natura2000 in Crete in Rethimno.
its an off-grid, eco retreat for whom wants to spend some days deep in the heart of the beautiful natural park of Preveli and Kourtaliotis Kanyon and the most beautiful beaches all around, Preveli-Palm Forest, Skinaria, Amoudi,Damnoni, althought not far from Plakias touristic area ! In the cottage they live also a lot of wonderful cats, that fullfill our lifes with love but they need also love! In the summer this cottage is available for the touristic period.
The land is full of palms, local herbs and olives. We make our oil but the quantity is small as we dont have so many trees. The landscape is amazing and the garden looks like paradise. The access to the rever preveli is nearby that you can reach by feet. The river of preveli is one of the most important sightseeings of Crete, where you can sweam during the summer time and the waterfalls are really close also reachable by feet. Infront of the house there is also an artificial river with water that watering the fields around as the area is an agriculture area! The house is provided with almost everything except electricity, and we have solar pannels instead. Peace and healthy Beauty could describe my house and one of the most original destination to explore the real Crete!

Leaving in the country is quite different by leaving in the town. this to explore is a unic experience and the cretan nature is full of knowledge and secrets that has to be explore. Me also after living for a longer period here i realized that it would be so difficult to leave again in the town although it needs more organisation and work sometimes to be ready for the wheater conditions and to mantain wonderful the paradise around me. The off grid ecological experience is without doubt unic and rich of knowledge. The land is also full of herbs that can be used for making any kind of medicaments. the contact of the enormous energy of the landscape can be unforgetable and therapeutic. And of course the place gives thousants of the occasions to come in contact with the real cretan life and treasures!
Help
it would be lovely to receive some help with my cats , my gardening or even with DIY and building progects during the winter time and maybe during the summer time as well. In the summer time the cottage has to be rent for the touristic period, but iam creating now different situations for hosting extra people like a very nice wooden kiosk and a pannel house with his own land around for hosting guests for a longer term that can also stay here and take care animals and plants when iam not here for a while, but usally i will be here to stay in the main cottage. Thats why iam looking for mature and responsable people but mostly animal lovers that will contribute with their help in the maintenance of my land and my animals wholeheartedly. Artistic ideas and experience will be very much appreciated in constructing things with ecological consciusness. The extra places that iam creating are under construction so every help is acceptable but the guests can make use for internet and kitchen of the main house until to create situations to make their places more indipendent in everything, so any experience is acceptable. The main house where i live is provided with solar pannels and solar heater for the bathroom, wifi and a small ecological pool ideal for the hot periods. I have a motorbike as well in case someone wants to use it. The river of Preveli, unic sightsighing of Crete, is nearby and can easily be reached by feet . Markets are not far eventhough the house is quite isolated by now.
What is really requested is to give love and care to my cats (20 cats almost) with responsability only for the small periods that i will not be here for them, to stay and work at least 4 hours per day but with no stress using as much as possible the daylight, and keep a good attidute, peace and silence especially during the summer time when the tourists are here. I can provide food and iam quite open of any kind of accordance as much as is also helpful for me and adeguate with the style of the living here but always taken with responsability and maturity. To talk about the unic and original beauty of the area and the places to visit would take pages for the description so i say only that the place is one of the most important and beautiful of Crete with treasures to discover allover that you dont have to miss. Of course during the winter most of the touristc shops and restaurants are closed but the landscapes seems more beautiful in the winter without the amounts of people who is visiting it during the summer time. It would be prefarable a quick chat before to go on with our collaboration just to ensure that you and me good fit together and make clear in everything! Hoping in meeting the right and wonderful persons for my place !

Accommodation
there are different places for accomodation! the cottage, the kiosk and the pannel house but the cottage is the fully equiped . ofcourse we have to be in accordance before the arrival.
What else ...
The south of Rethimno is full of sightseeings. the area is unic and uncontaminated full of possibilities of trecking explorations, sports,landscape explorations, amazing beaches, astonish sceneries, and real agriculture life. There are supermarkets nearby open all the time but during the winter is difficult to find a restaurant open (only few) as they all mostly are closed for some months before the touristic season will come again. If you are for a night life than you have to reach rethimno city that is not far, only 20 min by car. Ofcourse Crete is huge and there are alot to explore if you have a car or bike. With the busses is easy and frequent to travel through the main cities but to travel outside you have 2 or 3 busses per day usally. i can provide a motorbike to the guests , ofcourse to use it when the wheather permits it.
Windy days in the winter are oftain even if my house is not affected so much from the wind as the rest of the places here. The rainy also days are not so often in the south like they are in the nord. The climate is mite, and hot respect other places and there is no humidity. The climate goes closer to the african climate but we cant predict actually with accuracy in nowdays.
Ofcourse our way of life is not a luxury one. we encourage the country life style and this is the one that we applicate here.
