    Description

We are a young family in Sydney with a dog, young children and a standalone granny flat, looking for some help with our children in exchange for the accommodation.
We live in Rydalmere in not too western Sydney, near Parramatta, and have epic access to bushwalks, and local infrastructure of the city to enjoy.
We have 2 twin boys under 1, and a 3 year old boy, and love activity and fun on a daily basis.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Staying with us means joining a busy, active Aussie family in Rydalmere, in Sydney’s west, with our three boys and our Kelpie, Roo. You’ll have your own private space in our self-contained granny flat, so there’s a good balance of family life and privacy.

We love sharing the Australian way of life: shared meals, beach trips, bushwalks, camping and weekend adventures, and you’re always welcome to come along. You’ll see everyday Australia away from the tourist version, from local slang to the spots locals actually go. Parramatta CBD is a short bus, tram or ferry ride away, with a diverse food and cultural scene, and the harbour and city are easy day trips.

In return, we love learning about where our guests come from, whether that’s cooking us a meal from home, teaching us a few words of your language, or swapping stories over dinner.

We treat workawayers as part of the household, not as help. Get involved and you’ll fit right in.

  • Help

    Help

Help support our daily lives with our children, including supervision, simple food preparation, washing and cleaning relating to the children, and most of all lots of playing and activities!
We would need help each morning for a hour or two, and the same in the afternoon where it suits.
We are happy to negotiate with the right workawayer regarding schedules.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Self-contained granny flat with kitchenette, small living area and ensuite bathroom complete separate to the main house

We provide three meals a day as part of the exchange. Most of the time we eat together as a family, which is where a lot of the cultural exchange happens, swapping stories and trying each other’s cooking. We’re an easy-going household and happy to cater for vegetarians or any dietary needs, just let us know in advance.

Breakfast and lunch are usually relaxed and self-serve, and dinner is the main shared meal. We’d love for you to cook a dish from home now and then, and we’re always keen to learn a new recipe. Your granny flat has its own kitchenette for your days off, and you’re welcome to use the main kitchen with us when we’re all home.

Lots of opportunities for park runs, rides. We have a dog who loves running and walking if someone is willing.
We don't have a TV, love to do activities at all hours, and share most of the things we do with eachother - food, stories and laughs.
