And here I am, transitioning from a volunteer to a host !!
My name is Oumayma, and I am passionate about organic farming, natural buildings and sustainable living. And guess what? It was through my very first workaway experience in Turkey, back in 2018, that I discovered these interests. It's been a year now since I pushed my fears aside and quit my career to find my happiest self. Right after leaving my job, I traveled throughout Southeast Asia to recharge my energy and volunteer in various projects to pick up new skills, connect with likeminded souls and get inspired.
After a few months of traveling, I returned home ready to follow my calling to live off the grid.I am fortunate that my family (Mainly Mother and brother) also decided to settle down with me on our newly bought farm near Agadir (Our home town).
This shift helped us not only find tranquility but also reconnect with each other facing both the challenges and the joys that come with this lifestyle. Afer few years of experimenting, creating beautiful things and discovering the realities of building a project from the ground up, we realized that bringing all our ideas to life required a reliable source of income.
Because of drought, it is so difficult to depend on agriculture alone. This is why I started a rural tourism project, welcoming small groups of visitors to spend the day with us and discover our local culture through different hands-on workshops (Traditional cooking, Mud bricks making, Amazigh calligraphy...)
This tourism project has brought even more meaning to my life. Preserving our heritage and sharing it with people from around the world, far from the craziness of mass tourism, truly brings me joy. Moreover, the income generated through these experiences is reinvested in the farm, allowing us to improve the land, develop new facilities and continue building our long term vision step by step.
We welcome volunteers to join us on this journey, exchange knowledge and contribute to a growing family project with a real purpose. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
As a traveller/volunteer myself, I always value authentic human connection. By joining us, you will definitely learn more about Moroccan culture, rural life, our values and traditions.
We provide homemade lunch, which is mostly traditional Moroccan food. For breakfast or dinner, you can cook for yourself in a small kitchen with basic equipment.
The main village is only a 20 minutes walk away, where you can find local shops and small 'rural' cafés.
For the lucky ones, you will get to participate to our festivities, cultural events and family gatherings (we have a big extended family and we usually gather at my grand mother house in the city). -
Help
We are still in the early stages, so we need help in different areas. To make it easy, we need help with two main categories:
1. First Category : Developing the farm into a more sustainable homestead
- Permaculture design and organic gardening
- Water management : greywater reuse, garden ponds...
- Creating habitats for pollinators
- Natural building using earth and other natural materials
- DIYs, art, upcycling
- Simple Low tech solutions
- Tree Pruning (from November to January)
2. Second Category : Strengthening the rural tourism project
- Social media, photography, video and storytelling
- Website maintenance, Blogging and SEO
- Developing partnerships responsible tourism organizations, NGOs, Schools...
- Project management, grant applications...
When contacting us, please tell us about your specific skills, previous experience and any ideas you would like to develop during your stay. This will help us find a meaningful project that matches both your interests and our current needs.
Also important to mention that the volunteers should be flexible and open to work independently or as part of a team depending on the project(s). Take this as a space for knowledge sharing, creativity, experimentation, and mutual learning. -

Happy to teach you Darija (Moroccan language). My love for languages and culture exchange had led me to co-found and manage an online volunteer-based project uniting people from all parts of the world. I will tell you more when we meet. -
Accommodation
At the moment, we still didn’t build rooms for volunteers. So accommodation is mainly camping. If you don't have your own tent, we can provide one with a mattress, pillow and blankets.
I, myself, sleep outdoors most of the time, even though I have a shared room with my brother in the family house beacuse I simply love sleeping to the sound of crickets and waking up to the birds.
For this reason, you need to be an outdoors person and feel comfortable sleeping in a tent. If camping is not for you or you have never experienced it and feel unsure about it, this place may not be the right fit.
The sanitary area is also outdoors and has a dry toilet and a solar shower bag. -
What else ...
Due to local administrative requirements, we can host only a limited number of volunteers and must plan each stay carefully. Please, contact us only if you are confident that you can join us for the full agreed period and commit. A last minute cancellation or an early departure can create difficulties for us, as we cannot simply offer your place to another interested volunteer.
Location :
The farm is situated in a village called Sidi Boushab and is around 40 minutes drive from Agadir city. There is public transportation that connects the village to Agadir (Tikiouin station). I will provide more details before you come. In your free days, you can go to Agadir, Taroudant, or Ouled Teima.
One more important detail, you will have plenty of free time after your working hours. The farm is a quiet and disconnected place so you may want to bring a book, a craft or a personal project to enjoy during your free time, or simply take the opportunity to rest and enjoy the tranquillity. If you are a person who need constant company, activities... this may not be the right environment for you. -
