Hello! My name is Serena, I'm 44 and I live with my partner Luigi in a beautiful country house near the baroque town Lecce, South Italy. We have 5 dogs and 1 sheep and 1/2 acre of land surrounding the house. In the last years I've been a researcher in Ethics and Bioethics at the university of Salento, but now I run a kindergarten for 1-3-old children. I'm also concluding a 4-year school for counselling, marked by an existential approach based on some humanistic developements of psychoanalysis. I love writing poems and composing songs, and I would also like to start some experiences of video-art and land art.
Help in the house
Guests will be welcomed in a nice place in the countryside, where they can also relax and learn our language, our food, visit the wonderful baroque town Lecce and its surrounding area, take part to some local events, such as art exhibitions, music, ecc.. We can show guests how the typical "Leccese stone" is worked by artisans and artists, and my partner as well can show how to work pieces of wood and roots of olive trees to turn them into artistic lamps.
We need some help to cut the grass (we have a grass trimmer) in a large part of our land, maybe to plant some more vegetables, and to do some general cleaning all around, such as removing some old stuff (also pieces of furniture by the previous owner) that has remained accumulated in some corner of the garden. We'll do that together, since things are to be properly disposed of and taken away by car. But we'll do that together mainly because work becomes lighter if we do it together and cheerfully!
Guests will have a private bedroom. There are 2 bathrooms in our house but the shower will be in common. We can cook for everybody but guests can feel free to cook by themselves any time they want. Tv is in common in the large kitchen. Internet available. It may happen that dogs bark during the night, but I'm sure you'll get used to it very soon and your brain will ignore them!
You can easily reach Lecce from Brindisi airport, where a shuttle takes you to Lecce. We can pick you up in Lecce or you can take a local train to San Cesario, which takes 5 minutes. You can use this train to go to Lecce or to other villages in the area of Salento, like the famous touristic destinations of Otranto and Gallipoli. The seaside is breathtaking any time of the year!
