    Description

This is a small community learning center located in Belopa, a peaceful town in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Our mission is to help local students improve their English skills, build confidence, and broaden their perspectives by connecting them with people from different cultures around the world.

Most of our students are children and teenagers who are eager to learn English but rarely have the opportunity to interact with native or international speakers. That is why volunteers play an important role in our learning activities.

    What Volunteers Do Here

As a volunteer, your main role is to interact with students in a fun and friendly environment. You don't need to be a professional teacher. The most important thing is your willingness to communicate and share your experiences.

    Some of the activities include:
    1. Having casual English conversations with students
    2. Asking them questions and encouraging them to speak
    3. Answering their questions about language, culture, or daily life
    4. Playing simple educational games in English
    5. Helping students practice speaking and listening
    6. Sharing stories about your country and culture

Our classes are designed to be relaxed, interactive, and enjoyable. Students love activities like games, discussions, and cultural exchange.

    What Volunteers Gain

Volunteering with us is not only about helping students, but also about experiencing authentic local life in Indonesia.

As a volunteer, you will experience:
    1. Meaningful cultural exchange with local students and community members
    2. A chance to make a real impact on students’ confidence in speaking English
    3. Experience living in a small Indonesian town away from tourist crowds
    4. Opportunities to learn about Indonesian culture, food, and traditions
    5. Warm hospitality from our local community
    6. Accommodation and Meals

We will provide a simple place for you to stay. The accommodation is modest but comfortable enough for daily living.

We also provide home-cooked meals so you can experience traditional local food. Sometimes we also go out to eat together, and when we eat outside, everyone usually pays for their own meal.

    Our Environment

Belopa is a quiet and friendly town where life moves at a slower pace. It is a great place if you want to experience authentic Indonesian daily life, interact closely with local people, and enjoy a peaceful environment.

Our community is welcoming, and students are always excited to meet volunteers from different parts of the world.

    Who We Are Looking For
    1. We welcome volunteers who are:
    2. Friendly and open-minded
    3. Interested in cultural exchange
    4. Enjoy interacting with children and teenagers
    5. Willing to communicate in English with students
    6. Respectful of local culture

You don't need teaching experience — your presence, conversation, and enthusiasm are already very valuable to our students.

If you would like to experience local Indonesian life while making a positive impact on students, we would be very happy to welcome you.

We look forward to meeting you and sharing a meaningful experience together.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Belopa is the capital of the Luwu regency in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Luwu is famous for its beautiful panorama in the mountains, rice fields, rivers and beaches that can be found in almost every village in Luwu Regency. In the city of Belopa itself, the people generally work as fishermen, farmers, and office jobs both in government and private sector. There are also small hotels which are certainly not as tall as hotels in big cities in Indonesia. People of Belopa are very friendly to foreigners visiting this place.. Opu Senga (The King's title for the descendants of the Luwu nobility) is very friendly and welcomes foreign guests. This is evident when one of our friends from Germany, Mr. Paul, visited our place as educational volunteers. Not only providing him with accommodation facilities at the Luwu Traditional House, Opu also allowed Mr. Paul to take part in the regional royal event, when the descendants of royal members from all over Luwu Raya met.

Some of the tourist attractions that are close to our place are:
    1. Andi Djemma Park and Andi Benni Park, Belopa city. Located in the central of Belopa
Facilities: View of Mount Belopa City, Football field, Basketball court, Badminton court, Green Open Space for public.
    2. The Posang beach is in the Posang tourist village, North Belopa district, Luwu Regency. Distance from the city center ± 7 km. The facilities offered are gazebos, local culinary delights, wooden bridges built around mangrove trees and the sea make this place worthy of being a selfie spot.
    3. Sempadan, Padang-padang River. Kurrusumanga village, Belopa district. Luwu Regency. Distance from the city center ± 5 km. The facilities offered are views of the river surrounded by green trees and the view of mountains from a distance.
    4. Paddy field cruising bridge. Kurrusumanga village, Belopa district, Luwu Regency. Distance from the city center ± 5 km. The facilities offered are view of rice fields that can be explored over the colorful bridges.
