Description
Hello,
My name is Muhammad, I'm 40 years old, and I'm married. Here people call me "Mr. Y." I was a sailor who retired early. My hobby is making and decorating Aquascape and making some D.I.Y stuff from wood. We have 5 Aquascape in our place.
We have a School and an English course. Our place is located in a small city called Belopa, south Sulawesi. It takes approximately 8 hours from the Capital City of Sulawesi Island Indonesia | Makassar, to come here By Bus. The bus is very modern and comfortable, and Our place is nearby the main street and close to Bus stop areas.
Our school has aim to facilitate and train people or youth who wish to work abroad either on cruise ships or in land hotels. The fields of study taught at our educational institutions are hospitality and cruise ship education, English courses, computer courses, and mathematics.
We also have a social free teaching program And we often join in collaborative social activity in the Association of Volunteering project to eradicate illiteracy for children and youth in villages near Belopa. (it takes 2-3 days in a remote area)
We have 15 teams in our community now including me and my wife. We would like to invite native English speakers and those who are fluent in English to help us with Assitance the teaching in our school. Located in Jl Komesra 1 no 1, Sabe, Kec. Belopa utara, Kabupaten Luwu, Sulawesi Selatan 91983
What you will do here:
1. You just need to have an easy and relaxed conversation with the students.
2. It’s a freestyle teaching method, freely sharing knowledge with the students (eg. Reading, Sharing experiences with
storytelling, singing, or watching movies together).
3. You can conduct any fun games to improve English among the students, also You can share with us if you have any
ideas.
4. The help needed is easy and fun and the working time is flexible which only takes about 16 hours a week.
What we will offer :
1. We will provide a room which will be comfortable for you. But if we have more than 1 volunteers, could be sharing
room together in the same gender.
2. We will provide simple local breakfast and lunch
3. We can exchange languages and cultures. We speak English, Bahasa Indonesia, Luwu, and Buginess (two of these
two languages are our mother tongue) :-).
If you have same interest at Aquascape we can share new concepts ideas about that too.
Will be a great opportunity for you to explore this area while contributing to the local communities. We are more than happy to guide you to each of the attraction places.
Apart from that, Belopa also known for their friendly people (You may be surprise of how the local people welcoming tourists...the people here are nice and really respect the guests especially who come from abroad. You will feel like a superstar). We are pleased if you are interested to be part of this wonderful journey, and We hope that the presence of workawayer friends in our place can be a spark of fire to bring enthusiasm to the people in our community.

Given the climate conditions you will have time during the day to relax and take in your surroundings. Many use this time to explore the nature surrounding the town or visit the beach.
You will find the children very motivated to learn and meet you, making it a rewarding expierence for both you and them. By visiting us you are also opening a door to the wider world, helping them become more world-open, confident and interested. Many volunteers also fall in love with the general postive attitude and hospitality of the people here.
Unlike the tourist hotspots of Bali and the urban island of Java, Sulawesi sees far less international tourists and is not a commercialized tourist hotpot, meaning that the students here have far less interaction with foreigners. If you come join us, you will not only be able to help us improve the prospects of these students, but also become a part of our tight knit family.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Accommodation Type
We provide 1 private room for tourist guest who will join us. We provide traditional food according to the customs in our environment. Which is generally in the form of rice and several side dishes such as vegetables, fish, chicken or tempeh and tofu. Of course my wife who has a hobby of cooking will also provide free food for foreign guests who will be staying at our place later.
Belopa, which is a small town in the Luwu area of South Sulawesi, does not yet have a mall shop or other magnificent buildings. But we have several spots to enjoy street food and cafes which of course recommend for Asian food lovers. You can enjoy Sate, Gado-Gado, Bakso and some typical Luwu snacks there.
Our school is located in downtown Belopa, It is only about approximately 10 meters from the main road, close to traditional markets, terminal and it's very easy to get access to local public transportation if you want to visit cafes and parks in Belopa city.
We provide local breakfast and lunch for our volunteers. What else ...
Belopa is the capital of the Luwu regency in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Luwu is famous for its beautiful panorama in the mountains, rice fields, rivers and beaches that can be found in almost every village in Luwu Regency. In the city of Belopa itself, the people generally work as fishermen, farmers, and office jobs both in government and private sector. There are also small hotels which are certainly not as tall as hotels in big cities in Indonesia. People of Belopa are very friendly to foreigners visiting this place.. Opu Senga (The King's title for the descendants of the Luwu nobility) is very friendly and welcomes foreign guests. This is evident when one of our friends from Germany, Mr. Paul, visited our place as educational volunteers. Not only providing him with accommodation facilities at the Luwu Traditional House, Opu also allowed Mr. Paul to take part in the regional royal event, when the descendants of royal members from all over Luwu Raya met.
Some of the tourist attractions that are close to our place are:
1. Andi Djemma Park and Andi Benni Park, Belopa city. Located in the central of Belopa
Facilities: View of Mount Belopa City, Football field, Basketball court, Badminton court, Green Open Space for public.
2. The Posang beach is in the Posang tourist village, North Belopa district, Luwu Regency. Distance from the city center ± 7 km. The facilities offered are gazebos, local culinary delights, wooden bridges built around mangrove trees and the sea make this place worthy of being a selfie spot.
3. Sempadan, Padang-padang River. Kurrusumanga village, Belopa district. Luwu Regency. Distance from the city center ± 5 km. The facilities offered are views of the river surrounded by green trees and the view of mountains from a distance.
4. Paddy field cruising bridge. Kurrusumanga village, Belopa district, Luwu Regency. Distance from the city center ± 5 km. The facilities offered are view of rice fields that can be explored over the colorful bridges.A little more information
