It is an art promotion initiatives offering international residencies, workshops, exhibition and community art project in a small town Sarsawa, U.P, India.
Ancestral house studio, nestled in a traditional Indian rural setting, offers a unique artistic
perspective that blends heritage and creativity. Our vision is to create a dynamic art studio that
seamlessly blends rural inspiration with urban creativity, encourage artistic innovation, community connection, and cultural exchange in a small-town setting. Our misison is to provide a space for artists to experiment, innovate, and showcase their work. Offer workshops, classes, and residencies to nurture artistic talent. Collaborate with international artists to facilitate cross-cultural exchange. The studio includes three rooms, an open courtyard, a kitchen, and essential facilities for comfortable daily living on the ground floor. The first floor houses a studio room, an open space, and a terrace garden. The second floor is a ceramic studio and an open space for

  • Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

It is located in a traditional part of the town, offering Workawayers an authentic experience of everyday local life and culture. By living in the community, you will gain insight into the customs, traditions, and daily routines of the people. The town is home to several old buildings and historical ruins that reflect its rich heritage, while the nearby city of Saharanpur is internationally known for its exquisite woodcraft and traditional craftsmanship.

Through workshops and creative activities, Workawayers will have the opportunity to interact with local students, exchange ideas, and learn from one another in a meaningful way. You can also experience Indian home cooking and learn traditional recipes during your stay.

We believe that cultural exchange is a two-way journey. We welcome people from different backgrounds to share their knowledge, learn from the local community, and grow together through creativity, collaboration, and mutual respect.

You can also support us by helping us promote our residency programmes online, reaching artists from around the world and contributing to the growth of our international creative community.

As part of everyday life at the studio, we appreciate your help in keeping the shared spaces clean and welcoming, caring for the plants, and contributing to a positive, respectful, and collaborative environment for everyone.

The nearby city of Saharanpur, renowned for its traditional woodcraft, offers artisan workshops and a vibrant fabric market to explore. The Yamuna River basin, located about 7 km from us, is also worth visiting for a peaceful nature experience.
