    Description

Welcome to my little piece of paradise! I’m a primary school teacher with a love for nature and a strong sense of community. I live on an alternative community nestled in lush rainforest, where the air is fresh, the swimming holes are in abundance, and the beauty of the natural world surrounds. Here, life flows at a slower, more mindful pace.

I’m passionate about gardening, education, soccer, and sharing delicious vegan meals with others. My family all live nearby, so there’s a wonderful sense of connection and support. Family is important!

When I’m not teaching, you’ll often find me admiring the rainforest, tending to the garden, playing soccer at our local club, attending gatherings or community events or enjoying a refreshing swim in one of our local waterholes. I also love traveling and meeting people from all walks of life, and I’m excited to welcome Workawayers who share a curiosity for the world.

Come experience the beauty, creativity, and community spirit that makes this place so special—you might just fall in love with it too!

    A bit about local culture:
Nimbin is a lively village full of creativity and alternative culture, shaped by the 1973 Aquarius Festival, which started a movement for sustainable living and artistic expression. Today, the village is known for its colorful markets, unique art galleries, and fun local events that bring people together.

My community shares this spirit, nestled in the rainforest. Here, we love gathering for shared dinners, small dance parties, and casual hangouts that make everyone feel like family.

My family and friends live close by so you will have the chance to connect and meet lots of lovely people. Soccer is also a big part of my life, with games bringing people together for fun and friendship. However, this is not all year round.

My community is a welcoming, inspiring place where creativity and connection thrive.

  • Help

    Help

I’m looking for a reliable helper to assist with various tasks around my rainforest home. Jobs include garden work like planting, weeding, as well as house upkeep such as house maintenance, and general tidying.

I'd love to learn some new skills and share knowledge together. Or even learn some language.

If you enjoy hands-on work in a beautiful natural setting, this is the perfect opportunity. In return, you’ll be part of a welcoming, vegetarian household, sharing yummy meals, and have the chance to explore local swimming holes and rainforest trails.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

The accommodation is a loft with a double bed, space for clothes, and shared toilet/bathroom. It’s open and above the lounge room, with a steep staircase, so not completely private, as in there isn't a door. You’ll be sharing the house with 1 other person, me.

The house is quirky and beautiful, surrounded by forest, totally off grid with solar and spring fed dam and a plunge pool. It’s just 15 minutes from Nimbin, where you’ll find shops, an organic food co-op, and a farmers market on Wednesdays. Great swimming spots are nearby.

I do have Internet. However, it can be a bit patchy. I am working on finding a better way to connect to shared Starlink. At the moment, the receiver setup doesn't work exceptionally. Could be great to get some assistance with how to make this work better.
