We want try to provide everything that goes beyond the traditional idea of being “useful”. That is to say the things that help one pursue efficiency, fame, and money.
We are creating a new local lifestyle in our city. We encourage everyone to do something, play something, share something, and to do so without any particular purpose in mind.
We dream for a better way of life. We plan to start a warm and welcoming local life experiment in our hometown Keelung City.
This begins by opening a space where individuals can come to share, create, and blossom a beautiful local life.
We welcomely invite travelers to join and open cultural exchange through their preferred form of communication.
We were Workawayers before, so we would love to share the things that we enjoy.
*️️️ Stay with local people, neighbors and us (We love to travel also)
*️️️ We are not here every day, and the exchange is 3 hours a day, 3 days a week (One day on Friday and Saturday). So you can arrange a lot of free time to explore the city.
*️️️ If we cook, you are welcome to join us. (We cook vegan food mostly, sometimes not) We would love to share Taiwanese food.
* There are often people here visiting, so you have plenty of chances to meet new people. And if you want, you will have lots of opportunities to practice or improve your Mandarin with neighbors and with us.
* Keelung city has a rich history and many old historical forts, there is an opportunity to learn about the Keelung and its history.
Cultural sharing and exchange
Travel expiring sharing
Our goal is to provide a friendly and open environment where local students and residents can interact, play, and make friends through conversation, games, and events in our space.
Above all, we invite you to share your culture, and it’s better if you can speak in English. We hope that residents try to express their culture in simple words or body language.
Therefore, your main responsibility is cultural exchange and interacting with different languages (better in English). You can use games or other ways to assist you with this activity. At the same time, there is an opportunity to learn about Taiwanese culture through dialogue with people.
In this project, we will not charge payment from the locals who join our event, expect if we provide drinks or food for them.
We are looking for open-minded people. We want to meet with people who are spontaneous, fun, friendly, responsible, independent (you will have a lot of your own time), and with good communication.
What we expect in the project
*️️️ 3 times a week, 3 hours per time. (One time must be on Friday night or Saturday afternoon/evening)
*️️️ The course you want to share must be discussed via email before you arrive (preferably including your culture)
*️️️Basic English conversation skills (not necessarily native English speakers) Need to communicate with the people who are varying levels of English.
• We hope you can bring your own cultural knick-knacks (ex newspapers, books, board games, small toys) in from your own country (or your current country) as a course to share, and we hope that you can leave these little things in this space as a gift for future visitors.
• Maximum stay: 2 weeks.
