    Description

The business (and i) have the heart felt desire in taking the beauty of timber to its final destination that is in a finished product.
It is one thing to cut down a tree, and it's another thing to be a good steward of it. This business is my passion for doing the Wright thing with our natural resources in Special Species Timber.
Thin timber that not only looks great, but can also sound great with willing hands. Four out of the five senses are employed with this product, although the sight of some timber can give the appearance of eye candy!
We have a blossoming string instrument industry already in Tasmania, and i for one would like to help /promote all who think alike. This industry is certainly bigger than one kit maker, it can in a small way give credit to what has been over looked and had limited imagination applied to as well. Shorely we have enough salt and pepper shakers?
I have the added bonus of starting from scratch (a fire in 2016) to make a workshop that is warm and a pleasure to be in (working that is). Like a Phoenix from the ashes. I take you through the process of sawmilling, racking stacking drying to processing timber for components and finally building stringed instruments.
can you build in wood? have you built something with your skills in studios, workshops, homes, any form of building, perhaps your a graphic designer or engineer. If you are someone with these skill, please consider my place to come and help me. Bless you all and safe travels, Duncan (fellow traveler)

The time you spend here is productive and most of all enjoyable. I make ukulele's for anybody yet most importantly its seeing our beautiful timbers being used responsibly. In your spare time there are lots of walking tracks that take you through and past rivers, creeks and dams with all forms of wildlife including platypus. I feed wild Wallabies at my back door each day and had a family of Tassie devils under the floor boards in my front shed last Christmas. The views from the house and property are wonderful, calming and living, peaceful with a view 20km all the way to ocean and across the valley.Yes i live on a mountain (hill).
