    Description

    Hi,

We live in a beautiful part of the world! Trentham, Victoria, It's very 'Australian', peaceful, and relaxing. We often have wombats, kangaroos, possums, echidnas and deer visiting us. The farm is 200 acres and we breed Angus cattle.

We are a family of 5 (Brad, Sarah, Angus 7, Evie 5 and Isla 3). The older children are at school Mon - Fri and Isla is at kinder some days. The children like visitors as our extended family are interstate. We often go on days trips to surrounding areas and Melbourne. Which the kids love and you are most welcome to join us on.

Our local area has endless hikes, lovely villages, cafes, gyms, water holes/lakes and plenty to do. We are close to trains which can take you to Ballarat, Bendigo and Melbourne CBD in just under and hr. It is also an easy drive.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

The children love having people from other countries and learning about their culture. They also love sharing their very Australian landscape and lifestyle. When permitted we love bonfires, BBQ's, family meals, having people over, being busy, working on the farm. Taking day trips to the beach, local parks. However we also love the city. We speak English at home but love learning the key words in other languages. You will learn how to garden the duties required to run a farm and to be a part of the family in addition to respecting each other space and environment.

  • Help

    Help

We would love help looking after the children when they are home, One day a weekend (3 children) and 2 days a week with (1 child). We could also do with help in the garden (light duties) and the odd pet sitting (if we go away) cooking of an evening meal (not compulsory). Brad is often fencing on the farm and I am checking/ tending to the cows and doing cattle work if you would like to be a part of this.

You are most welcome to join us for dinner, make your own lunch and breakfast. • What else ...

    What else ...

There are many national parks in Trentham and the Macedon Ranges with endless hikes, Lakes for fishing and swimming, including our dam, there are also zoos where you can feed kangaroos etc. You can bike through Melbourne CBD, or soak in the Hepburn spas. Many friends have au pairs we can connect you with.

At the end of the day (following the children's bedtime, or before - The family require their own space and ask you retreat to upstairs to relax). We also respect your time and space when sharing the house. Especially when using social media and mobiles as we don't have those on during meal times and limit this around the children. We also ask you to look after the house and keep your living area clean and tidy, turn off lights, save water and not excessively use the air conditioner.
