This was my first workaway experience and it was amazing. Valerie and her sons a very were super friendly and open for conversations. What was great for my English and feels really a little bit like home for this 20 days.
The tasks that I had to do were easy and not straining. I had to do some work at the huge beautiful garden, painting the deck,… read more a little cleaning of the basement and the Airbnb room. Possible for everyone. =)
The main street of Wicklow town and the lovely long beach/harbor are in walking distant. But Valerie had also a bike, so you will be in town center (very nice with many great pubs) in 5 minutes.
I was often in Dublin because the bus goes every hour from wicklow and is very cheap (8-14€).
Although, one of my best experience was the trip the Wicklow Mountains. It is breathtaking to stand on this mountains, you should not miss this chance. It is not so easy to drive with the bus to this place but it is possible and Valerie helped me a lot. She gave me much good advises for great places to go.
So in the end ... If you like to meet a really Irish family in a nice Irish east side town, this is the best place to go. =)

I enjoyed the places around Wicklow, Brey,Ashford, Glendalough, I went to the beach and had plenty of time to enjoy activities in the afternoons and… read more weekends.
My best wishes to Valerie's Family..
