Description
We run a non-profit organization of alternative school for elementary school students (ages 6 to 15) in Ichinomiya Town, Chiba Prefecture.
We seeking native English speakers who enjoy working with children and are eager to engage in both play and English learning activities.
Our school aims to nurture children's intellectual curiosity and support spontaneous learning in a free and open environment. We hope that as they grow, they will develop the ability to think independently, solve problems creatively, and live with strength and imagination.
Ichinomiya Town is located on the Pacific coast, just a 10-minute drive from Tsurigasaki Beach, the venue for the surfing competition during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. It’s a peaceful and comfortable place to live, with a mild climate and rich natural surroundings.
We are creating an immersive English-speaking environment to help children develop a global perspective. Through this, we aim to inspire children in rural areas to recognize the vastness of the world and their own limitless potential.

Accommodation
You will stay in a private room inside our school facility. The room has air conditioning and can be used as your private sleeping. The building is large, with several rooms and shared areas, so it does not feel like a small apartment or a single-room setup.
Please note that the school is an active community space. Staff will be present at the school every day from around 9:30am to 8:30pm.
The facilities are simple. There is a toilet inside the building, but there is no indoor bathroom or shower. We will provide a simple outdoor shower setup in a private tented area with privacy screening.
We provide one meal per day on working days. Meals are not provided on days off.
We ask for around 4 hours of help per day, Monday to Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are days off.
This arrangement would suit someone who is flexible, independent, comfortable with simple facilities, and happy to stay in a community-based school environment.
What else ...
Our organisation is a non-profit and we also work in collaboration with the local municipality .
As this position involves working closely with children, please understand that we are very careful and selective in our recruitment process.
If you are selected, we will ask you to provide identification, background information, and letters of recommendation.
Applicants with experience in education are especially welcome.
There is also a possibility of obtaining a work visa.
Please read the accommodation information carefully before applying. Our facilities are simple, and we want to make sure that anyone who stays with us is comfortable with this setup before confirming.
