Description
We run an alternative school for elementary school students (ages 6 to 15) in Ichinomiya Town, Chiba Prefecture.
We seeking native English speakers who enjoy working with children and are eager to engage in both play and English learning activities.
Our school aims to nurture children's intellectual curiosity and support spontaneous learning in a free and open environment. We hope that as they grow, they will develop the ability to think independently, solve problems creatively, and live with strength and imagination.
Ichinomiya Town is located on the Pacific coast, just a 10-minute drive from Tsurigasaki Beach, the venue for the surfing competition during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. It’s a peaceful and comfortable place to live, with a mild climate and rich natural surroundings.
We are creating an immersive English-speaking environment to help children develop a global perspective. Through this, we aim to inspire children in rural areas to recognize the vastness of the world and their own limitless potential.Types of help and learning opportunities

By joining us, travellers will have the chance to immerse themselves in rural Japanese life while contributing to a unique alternative education project. You will experience the daily rhythm of a small seaside town, interact with local children, and learn about the Japanese approach to community, education, and nature.
You’ll also:
- Improve your teaching and communication skills in a multicultural environment
- Build meaningful relationships with Japanese staff, families, and children
- Learn basic Japanese phrases and customs through daily interaction
- Enjoy delicious homemade meals and seasonal local ingredients (sometimes even helping harvest or cook!)
If you’re curious about Japanese culture, education, or simply enjoy connecting with children and communities, this will be a rich and rewarding experience.Projects involving children
