Description
We are a family of four: Shane and Angela, with our children Maryanne, 14, and Joseph, 13 . We live on a small family farm in Inch, near Inch Beach, in beautiful County Kerry.
We have 2 dogs, 5 cats, 2 donkeys, 4 hens, a duck and around 40 goats, so there is always something happening here!
We are currently starting a new project restoring our neighbouring cottage, which was originally built in 1906. The cottage has two parts: the old original section with the traditional half-door, and a newer extension built in the 1980s.
The main work will involve repairing and plastering walls in the old part of the cottage, as well as helping to bring the garden back to life. The garden has been neglected for a while, so someone with green fingers would be very welcome!
We may have relatives staying in the cottage from time to time, but mostly it will be used for Workawayers while the project is ongoing.
We would love to welcome someone who enjoys family life, animals, the countryside and getting involved in practical projects. We are also very interested in learning Spanish, especially Maryanne, so we would be delighted to host Spanish-speaking Workawayers. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Our family would really enjoy a cultural exchange. Our children are learning Spanish in school, so it would be lovely to help each other with language learning in a relaxed, everyday way.
We’d love to share Irish culture, rural life, and what it’s like living on a small family farm by the sea in West Kerry.
In return, we’d love to learn about your culture, traditions, and especially food — sharing meals, recipes, and stories together. It’s important to us that this feels like a genuine exchange, where everyone learns something new and enjoys the experience. -

Help
We are a small family living on a farm near Inch Beach in beautiful West Kerry, Ireland. We are currently renovating a traditional stone cottage (Julia’s Cottage) and would love some help along the way.
We’re looking for one or two friendly, easygoing people who would enjoy a mix of outdoor and creative work. Tasks include gardening, painting, and a bit of fencing — nothing too heavy, just helping us bring the place back to life.
We would especially love to meet someone who speaks Spanish, as we’re hoping to learn and practice while you’re here — so it’s a cultural exchange as much as anything 😊
You’ll be staying in the cottage itself, so it’s a lovely opportunity to experience rural Irish life, close to the sea, with beautiful views and plenty of fresh air.
Our home is 3 minutes away from the cottage. We have a small goat farm and make cheese. We won't be looking for any help on the farm or with the cheese business. All the help will be in the cottage and garden. You will of course get to eat our yummy goats cheese 😃
If you enjoy nature, simple living, and being part of a small project, we’d love to hear from you. -

Maryanne & Joseph are learning Spanish in school. I would love to learn some Spanish also. -
Accommodation
The cottage is a 3 bedroom home. It's a 5 minute walk away from our home & farm. You would have your own space. A kitchen & sitting room. The full use of the seaside cottage. We would be working away on the renovations . We would all eat together some days & we would provide food for you to cook yourself also.

What else ...
Our home is surrounded by nature, with the sea in front of us and the Slieve Mish Mountains behind us — perfect for hiking and exploring. We are just 5 miles from the famous Inch Beach, known for surfing, swimming, fishing and long beach walks.
We live a short drive from the village of Annascaul, and there is a bus stop just outside the house with regular buses to both Dingle and Killarney. Dingle is a lively tourist town with great music, cafés and beautiful scenery, while Killarney is famous for its lakes, mountains and national park.
Helpers can enjoy the peaceful countryside, local pubs with traditional Irish music, beaches, hiking trails and stunning views all around the area. It’s a great place for anyone who enjoys nature, outdoor life and experiencing real rural Ireland. -
