Description
I'm a furniture designer who also works on architectural projects in country side japan. In winter, we operate a small boutique hotel and restaurant, and the rest of the year, we design, renovate and build locally. We're currently looking for people with renovation skills who can contribute to our small team. For those without these skills, we have cleaning and general labour jobs.
Your ski hotel is empty, but the onsen is full. You can stay in a hotel guest room and enjoy mountain life. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
It's a good opportunity to learn about life in the Japanese countryside. There are lots of hiking, natural onsen and waterfalls, a lake, fishing, swimming etc and lots of snow in winter. Known for powder snow, our area is great for skiing and snowboarding, with a variety of terrain for all levels.
We have a couple of Japanese staff working with us, which provides some opportunities to practice the language and learn about the local area. -

Help
We are working on a few projects ranging from interior design to general renovation. From a small cabin in the woods to a large new build, built on the frame of a 170-year-old traditional farmhouse. We also have some old properties which require cleaning out. It would be great if you have an international license.

Accommodation
We have staff rooms in an apartment attached to the main hotel, with access to showers, toilets, a kitchen and most importantly, onsens. A car is available for use for those with an international license. Food will not be provided; we would prefer those staying with us to be self-sufficient during their time with us. Minimum wage will be provided for hours worked.

What else ...
The local train station is Myoko Kogen station. We have a car that is available to use if you have an international license.
