    Description

    Help us build our off-grid horse farm and apple orchard in beautiful Northern Spain

    At the moment, we are especially excited about our young foal and would love to welcome people who are curious to learn how a young horse is raised, handled, and trained. No previous horse experience is necessary – curiosity, kindness, patience, and a willingness to learn are much more important. We enjoy sharing what we know and learning together along the way.

    Our Vision

    Our dream is to create a peaceful and sustainable place where people, animals, nature, and healthy food come together.

    One of our long-term goals is to develop our apple orchard into a source of high-quality organic apple products, including natural dried apple chips combined with healthy herbs and plants that grow in our region. We are fascinated by the abundance of edible wild plants around us and enjoy learning about nature’s gifts.

    We are happy to share our knowledge about wild herbs, edible plants, and how they can be used in everyday life. There is always something new to discover in nature, and we enjoy learning together with our guests.

    As a family, we follow a mostly raw vegan lifestyle and love exploring natural, healthy foods. However, everyone is welcome to eat and cook whatever suits them best. We want our home to be a place of openness, respect, and mutual learning, where different lifestyles and cultures are appreciated.

    More than anything, we hope to create a place where people, animals, and nature can thrive together, while sharing experiences, skills, and meaningful connections.

    We are also always happy to meet people who might like to stay a little longer and become part of our project. From time to time, we travel to Germany, so we especially appreciate trustworthy people who enjoy being around animals and nature and might be interested in helping care for the farm while we are away.

    We are a family living between Germany and Northern Spain, creating our dream of a sustainable off-grid lifestyle in the beautiful region of Cantabria.

    Our property consists of a charming house, a 10,000 m² apple orchard and an additional 7,000 m² field with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. We are gradually developing the land and creating a place where animals, nature, and people can thrive together.

    Our animals

    We share our home with:

    * 4 Arabian horses
    * 1 Welsh pony
    * 1 adorable foal
    * Several dogs

    Our neighboring farms also have cows and sheep, so there is always animal life around us.

    How you can help

    Depending on the season and your interests, you can help with:

    * Caring for our horses and dogs
    * Spending time with our foal and learning about young horse training
    * Going on walks and hikes with our dogs
    * Helping maintain the apple orchard and fields
    * Gardening and general land care
    * Organizing and improving structures and routines around the farm
    * Supporting various projects as we continue developing our property

    What you can learn

    * Horse care and young horse training
    * Animal handling and welfare
    * Sustainable and off-grid living
    * Orchard and land management
    * Gardening and practical farm skills
    * Life in rural Northern Spain

    The area

    One of the things we love most about living here is the incredible nature that surrounds us. This is a place where you can slow down, enjoy peace and quiet, and reconnect with nature.

    The beautiful beaches of the Cantabrian coast are nearby, and the area around Villaviciosa offers excellent surfing opportunities. If you enjoy hiking, there are countless trails through forests, hills, and mountains with stunning views of the countryside and coastline.

    Whether you prefer spending time with animals, exploring nature, surfing, hiking, reading a book under an apple tree, or simply enjoying a slower pace of life, there is something special here for everyone.

    About us

    Like our farm, we are constantly learning and growing. Every season brings new projects, new ideas, and new opportunities to learn. We love meeting people from different backgrounds, sharing experiences, exchanging knowledge, and learning from one another.

    For us, Workaway is about much more than exchanging help for accommodation. It is about sharing everyday life, creating meaningful connections, and building something beautiful together.

    We welcome people from all backgrounds and cultures and look forward to meeting kind, open-minded people who would like to become part of our journey for a while.

    We look forward to hearing from you!
