    Description

We are an easy going family of 4 - Jola, Nic and 2 boys aged almost 3 and 6.
We moved to Stroud over a year ago from Bristol. We live in a quiet area close to The Heavens and also a walking distance to the town center. (It is a lovely walk 15-20 min to town center, it takes through the beautiful Old Stroud. You can catch a bus up the hill from town, or use our bike!).

We have got a lovely garden room that will provide our guest with some privacy and quiet space.

Jola works part time at University of Bristol and enjoys small DIY projects, her allotment and yoga.
Nic works in sound design - mainly post production and also sound recording. He loves nature, birds and music, a lot of music!
The boys love running and playing outside, read books and watch a good film! or not so good cartoons. They are very active and loud!
It is chaos and fun in the summer... you need to be flexible and playful. No need to organize any elaborate activities for the kids - they do their own messy crafts and dig their garden patch or play with water (a lot!).

We are looking for someone to help us from the 10th August for 3 weeks during the school holidays.
You can stay longer in September but the schedule would change when the school starts.

We would like to hear from someone who is flexible and will be happy to go with the flow. There is a lot of chaos (and fun!) with the boys. There is a number of activities and places to go to, but the plans can change last minute depending on the weather and the mood/energy levels. We would need you to help as follows:
-12-18 hours of daytime childcare (probably only from Tuesday to Thursday) - often it is going to be only our older son.
    - daily light housework help around the house 1-2 hours/ day - empty/ load the dishwasher, hoover the floors, help with the laundry
    - preparing snacks and light meals for the kids - no proper cooking needed
    - evening babysitting twice/week - flexible on days, depending on your days off and the daytime childcare
    - 2 full days off/ week - Sunday and Monday but we can be flexible and swap it occasionally to Friday or Saturday.
    - £90 pocket money/ week

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We live close to the Heavens and also walking distance to Stroud town center.
Stroud is a lovely town with many events and activities are taking place almost every day.

There are various community hubs nearby - Top of Town Community Hub and Trinity rooms.
There is a direct bus to / from town center from where we live. Lovely walks and pubs to enjoy.
The train will take you to Gloucester or Cheltenham.

There are many free/ low cost options to spend your time meeting new people - choirs, yoga and sport, swimming (there is a big local wild swimming community), cycling. But also lots of music gigs and art exhibitions nearby. Some volunteering options in town if you wish to emerge yourself in the culture and community.
