    Description

We’re a family of five - mum, dad and 3 kiddos aged between 14 and 9. We are busy always running the kids around for their sports. But we do love time at home when we can! We live on 4.5 acres and love our chooks, sheep, dog and goat. We would love to tend to our veggie garden more and do a few jobs on the property. We have lots of ideas and dreams and would love an extra set of hands to help but also would love the companionship of a traveller and show off our little piece of paradise. Our homestead is very much hobby only and not related to business at all.
We’re about 1 hr from Melbourne - very much a rural setting in the Aussie bush. There’s lots of walking tracks around us and we enjoy the peacefulness that our environment offers. We often see echidnas, wombats, kangaroos, kookaburras, frogs, possums and parrots.
Our kids are active- they swim, and play netball, footy and cricket.
We love going to the beach and love family bushwalks.
Hubby and I love to jog and try and keep fit.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Our guest is welcome along to anything we do - mainly kids activities!
We’d like to maintain our family rhythm and simply have a guest that would like to join in and get involved with our day to day activities.
We’ve hosted an exchange student before and felt that being authentic is the best way to truely show a guest how a typical Aussie family works.

I’m keen to paint our shed/barn. It’s not a hard job but I’d prefer company!
It’d be awesome to better set up our gardens and an extra set of hands with kids - homework/tutoring would be amazing. Open to learning anything from our guest that they are expert in!

    Accommodation

Clean and secure. Spare room in the house that we’d expect to be kept tidy as it’s also a work space.
Join us at the table for meals. Eat what we eat but if you want something out of the ordinary purchase yourself and you’re welcome to store it here.

    What else ...

We don’t have a spare car and we are about 5km from a train station. We are however always out and about (daily) so can offer a lift to a desired destination if it fits in.
