  Description

  We were workawayers back in 2018 when we traveled in South America. We loved meeting great hosts and working on their projects. That’s why now we want to jump on the other side and join workaway.info as a host !
  We are living in our house in Savoie since 2022, in a city named La Motte-Servolex, next to Chambéry. We live near the city of Chambéry (train station), a beautiful lake where we can swim during summer and the Alps.
  We have a daughter born in June 2025.
  We want to host two people (couple or friends who are OK to sleep in a double bed). We ask workawayers to help us cooking and cleaning after meals. The idea is to share the tasks of our life in community.
  
  We work during the week as employees but David works from home and will be available. We can show you around during weekends.
  You will also be our guests and we will do everything to make you enjoy your stay here. We could have a walk in the Alps nearby, swim in the lake, eat french specialties… We are also looking forward to meeting you and exchange our cultures !
  
  Nous sommes d’anciens workawayers : nous avons fait des projets en Amérique du Sud, rencontré de super hôtes et nous sommes heureux de proposer un projet Workaway chez nous, en France.
  Nous vivons dans notre maisons depuis mai 2022 en Savoie (73), plus précisément à La Motte-Servolex. Nous habitons proche de Chambéry (une ville dynamique avec Gare SNCF), d’un superbe lac et des Alpes !
  Nous avons une fille Ariane née en juin 2025
  
  Nous préférons accueillir deux workawayers en même temps (couples ou amis qui acceptent de partager un lit double). Nous demandons aux workawayers de nous aider à cuisiner et à nettoyer après les repas. L'idée étant de partager les tâches de la vie commune.
  
  Nous travaillons en tant que salariés en semaine mais David télétravaille et sera disponible. Nous pourrons visiter les environs le weekend.
  Nous vous accueillerons aussi en tant qu’invités et nous ferons notre possible pour vous faire découvrir la région (promenades en montagne, pique-nique au lac, découverte de la ville, etc.), les spécialités locales, la culture française… et nous sommes impatients de vous connaître vous aussi !

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We propose that we eat together during evenings. It will be an opportunity to become friends and to practices our english/french/spanish and even more ! We will help you discover the surrenders on weekends. We can speak French (our mother tongue) or English, as you prefer. We will cook culinary specialities from here and we will be pleased to answer all your questions. We are very curious to learn from you and your perception of France, Europe, Cultures...
  
  Nous vous proposons de manger avec nous le soir et nous vous ferons découvrir les environs le weekend. Nous pouvons parler français (notre langue maternelle) ou anglais. Nous vous ferons découvrir les spécialités culinaires de la région avec plaisir et nous répondrons à toutes les questions que vous pouvez vous poser. Nous serons contents d'échanger avec vous sur vos perceptions des choses et les différences de culture que nous pouvons avoir.

  Our mother tong is French. We will be glad to speak French with you. We also speak English fluently. We also spoked Spanish when we traveled in South America. David learned german and bit of Japanese. Morgane studied in Shanghai and speak a bit of madarin.

  Accommodation

  We have one room with one double bed and a bathroom with toilets which will be yours for your stay. We will eat together in the evening. David eats with you at lunch. We get up at 7am but we can have breakfast separatly if you want to sleep. No rush! We ask workawayers to help us cooking and cleaning after meals. The idea is to share the tasks of our life in community.
  
  Nous avons une chambre avec un lit double et une salle de bain avec toilette qui vous seront dédiés. Nous vous proposons de prendre les repas du soir ensemble. David travaille sur place, se rendra disponible et pourra partager certains repas du midi avec vous. Nous nous levons à 7h mais nous pourrons prendre le petit déjeuner séparément pour vous permettre de dormir le matin. Aucun problème ! Nous demandons aux workawayers de nous aider à cuisiner et à nettoyer après les repas. L'idée étant de partager les tâches de la vie commune.

  What else ...

  There is a bus 10 minutes from our home which drives you downtown. Up there, you will find everything you need (train station, bus station, shops, cinema, swimming pool…).
  In Chambéry, you can rent a bike from 1€/day. By bike, Chambéry is 30 minutes from our place and the lake is 45 minutes.
  Every commodity you could need is 20 minutes walk from our place at La Motte-Servolex city center (drugstore, supermarket, bakery…).
  
  Nous avons un bus qui peut vous amener en ville à 10 min à pied de chez nous. Vous y trouverez tout ce qui peut vous intéresser (gare SNCF, bibliothèque, cinéma, boutiques, piscine, etc.).
  La ville de Chambéry propose une location longue durée de vélo pour 1€/jour. Le lac est à 45 min en vélo, la ville à 30 min… Il est possible de se balader sans aucun problème dans le quartier.
  Toutes les commodités sont à 20 min à pied de chez nous (pharmacie, supermarché, boulangerie, etc.).
