    Description

Named for the windsong through the magestic Pepper Trees surrounding the homestead, our Estate of 10 hectares is nestled between the scenic Barossa Valley, famed world over for its fine food and wines, and the mighty River Murray, the third longest navigable river in the world and Mecca for river fishing and water sports.

Our homestead is adjacent to the River Marne, feeding into the Murray and habitat to myriad bird species and Australian wildlife. In season you may even catch fresh water yabbies in the waterholes. In the rural landscape you can explore century old farm relics and disused mines... may be gold in those hills yet. This is true `Big Sky` country, a painters delight, with dawns, sunsets and stars - Cambrai was recently internationally acclaimed as a star gazing venue for its clean pollution free atmosphere, so bring your star charts!

You will slumber in a pleasant country style bedroom furnished with bunk-beds and adjacent to shared modern bathroom facilities. When you rise with the dawn your view looks out over horse paddocks and chicken run.

As part of your 20 hours per week (times negotiable) you will be invited to join in tasks and activities undertaken by us that may include caring for the horses and other animals, tree trimming, bonfires (in season), fence maintenance, painting, cleaning both inside and outside the homestead and in the house yard, and any other tasks that may arise in our rural lifestyle. Skills in using `technology` and in maintaining/ fixing mechanical `stuff` would be greeeaatly appreciated lol

You Will be required to follow instructions given by Mum (your host) closely!!! ??????

There are many places of beauty and interest locally that you will wish to visit yourselves if you have transport, or at times accompany our family on errands and outings and experience how us locals play. In addition there are a variety of musical instruments available for impromptu jam sessions around the fire, which include a piano, guitar, lagerphone, a didgeridoo, aboriginal clap sticks and even the `spoons`!!

As part of a continental breakfast, ploughmans lunch and cooked dinner, you will be introduced to tasty and nutritious Australian Foods cooked at times on modern appliances and at others on our antique wood stove.

Our family is made up of `us` - the primates, along with the horses, dogs, chickens, a variety of birds and whatever wildlife you may encounter.

We take delight in encouraging our guests in their pursuit of extending their spoken English skills and have some use of non English languages ourselves ??

We are looking forward to chatting with you to arrange your visit. And please, if you do arrange to come and help us, then change your mind, please let us know so we don't waste time and money preparing for your stay and we can allow other HelpX guests to visit. Thankyou
