Short term/long term helpers space available as well as one Full time seasonal internship position available for 2018.

    Short term/Long term helpers:

We welcome 1-2 week visits from helpers as well as longer term stays if both parties are a good fit. We have a campground with small outdoor kitchen and outhouse. Your work would involve jobs around the farm ranging from animal care to gardening to fencing, digging, moving soil/manure.

    Full time Intern Position:

Turtle Hill Farm is looking for a self motivated woman to intern on our farm for Summer 2018. This will be a 4 month position, May-August. You will primarily be in charge of the market garden. You are provided basic food staples and a stipend. In addition, you will keep all net income generated from market sales after supplying Turtle Hill residents with what they need. There are also some management duties of basic farm activities, including managing other helpers.

Our vision is often bigger than our family can manage! Sadly it’s the garden that falls to the side when it comes to all the things we want to accomplish on our homestead. The garden can wait, but the animals can’t! This year we are ready to bring money into the equation in exchange for more responsibility.

We are a queer family with two kids growing our small farm since 2007. Our goals are to provide healthy, sustainable food for our family and surrounding community. We love being able to offer an opportunity for folks to be connected with their food and are particularly interested in providing a space for women to find their strengths and learn new skills of self-sufficiency. We currently sell fresh eggs, poultry, pork and fermented vegetable products. We have a small garden, along with polyframes and coldframes for winter and summer crops that provide a majority of our food. We provide learning opportunities through workshops ranging from farming to auto mechanics. We are interested in exploring alternative methods for creating outbuildings and landscaping our farm. We have only just begun, and love the idea of sharing this experience with others along the way!
There is also plenty of camping space. Shared electricity. The temps in this area May- August range anywhere from lows of 40 to highs of 95.
