    Description

Few miles from the polish border our home is nestled in a peaceful, calm and cosy village hidden away from all stress of the 21st century; in a way you could say that time has stood still here. We are a tight-knit community which strongly supports each other and enjoys life. Back in 2022 our family returned home from living in Southern Germany where I worked in Marketing. We decided, we not only wanted to return to our roots by moving back to the former East but also in setting up and leading a sustainable and family / community based life. We reset our priorities.

We were super lucky to find this quirky old pub which we bought and have been breathing new life into since turning it into a wonderful home. We have achieved a great deal and are now at a stage at which we would like to involve volunteers in our wonderful project. Having volunteered myself I am inspired by the support, fun, shared experiences and community it offers. I would like to bring this into my family home.

My name is Astrid, I live with my 16 year old daughter, Mia, Pünktchen our rabbit and Socke our cat. We are fun, warm, open, bubbly and really looking forward to hosting you. We are self-sustainable and live life to the full.

The main part of the job is DIY around the house with all kinds of jobs that need doing, gardening esp. vegetable patch. We welcome and are open to any experience and advice you can bring regarding sustainable energy, DIY and growing all those delicious edible things.
