I'm an artist at heart and by profession so I consider my surroundings as a canvas!
I am educated in ceramics and textile and have been teaching these subjects for a decade
in high school. At home my projects include laying bricks, carpenting, gardening and sometimes
cooking and sewing. Together we'll find what works best for you and decide where your abilities are best put to use!
I would like to share my ideas and socialize while we're doing our respective tasks!
For me, meeting new people is like traveling all over the world, therefore hosting is an alternative way of traveling for me!
I have a big and lovely garden at Ekeberg in Oslo and a charming cottage/log cabin in the woods (30 min. by car).
I am looking forward to this adventure and hope someone will find my offer interesting!
Some of my projects may be quite "hardcore" - they can be a bit like workouts! Others are not so physical so all types of people can find something to do that they can have fun with and enjoy!
UPDATE: I am not able to host any work-awayers at the moment unfortunately.
Cooking / shopping
Oslo has a lot to offer, and at the cottage it's all about living a simple life with activities like fishing, swimming and generally doing things the "old way".
Three meals per day are provided. We cook, eat and clean up together. If you would like to prepare some speciality from your country I would love to learn more about it and have a taste!
Regarding the volunteer schedule I am quite flexible. If you wish to have some days off during the week and work in the weekend it is possible. However I expect that you work five days in a row when you first arrive. Also I prefer that we start quite early in the morning ,around nine usually.
LENGTH OF STAY
Depending on the projects that I have it is possible with long-term stays. However we will have a one week "trial period" so that we know if you and I are happy with the situation. :)
English and Norwegian. Some German....
I have several rooms where you can stay; in the main house or in a small traditional cottage (in the garden) called "stabbur"!
It's just 20 minutes by foot to central Oslo.
I have several bicycles, and a car too!
