Description
We are a family of four. Mum is Mexican/American and dad is Australian. The children are bilingual English and Spanish. They are 9(M) and 7(F).
We live on lush, green acreage near Samford, in Brisbane, with our dog Pepa and two indoor cats, Snowball and Loki. We have a little granny flat we'd love to share when my mom isn't visiting.Types of help and learning opportunities

We are of Mexican heritage and would love to help spanish-speakers practice their English, or have Spanish speakers in our home. We'd also love to expose the children to more cultures.
We are proponents of democratic education and respectful parenting. Workawayers can expect to explore everything Brisbane has to offer including beautiful parks, museums, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, fires in the backyard firepit, Australian barbecues, local hikes and bushwalks, early Sunday morning markets. Public transport is only fifty cents and workawayers can travel all around Brisbane, independently or accompanied as time allows. Australia zoo is only an hour away. There is no shortage of delicious seafood to be had.Help
We really only need help with yard tasks. Mainly weeding, and maybe spraying some organic herbicide. There are many fences that the weeds like to overtake and can require hand pulling. There may also be trees and hedges to trim.

Dad is the only person who doesn't speak Spanish and he'd love to learn more. Mum loves French and has a very little bit of German.Accommodation
We have a 1-bedroom granny flat with a bathroom, kitchen (stove/oven, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster), and living/dining area. We provide food for cooking at your leisure and you'd also be welcome to join family meals. We are gluten free omnivores, but would cater to the preferences of workawayers. There is a queen bed and also a sofa bed in the granny flat. We could accommodate a small family, so if there are 3 of you please don't hesitate to ask.
What else ...
We are happy to drop and pickup workawayers from the nearest train station anytime they wsh to go exploring. It is less than 10 minutes drive from our home. Public transport here is only fifty cents and the train system goes pretty far. We can source a bicycle or two if that's something that appeals. But really this is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle and be at one with nature, accessible to one of Australia's best cities.
