Hello! Help us with some small projects, practice Spanish or teach us cooking from your culture in exchange for food, accommodation and fun conversations!

2019 Update: One of my summer goals is to start my blog. Since and am not very tech-savvy, I'm looking for a Workawayer to walk me through the steps and look over my shoulder as I become more capable in setting up pictures and stories. I'm using a format. Let me know if this is one of your skills!! Thanks, Linda

Who we are: Linda (56 y.o) and Paul (65 y.o.) who live in Montana (northwestern part of the USA). I (Linda) am a massage therapist, an artist (mosaics) and an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher. I also enjoy studying Spanish, reading, writing and meditation. Paul is a hydro-geologist, a handyman (builds stuff, fixes cars and bikes and most everything) and a history buff.

We both enjoy the outdoors (cycling, skiing, camping, hiking) and luckily Billings, Montana is a great place for all of these fun activities. We also like to listen to live music, cook, try local craft beers (6 local craft breweries reside in Billings), hang out with people and discuss world culture and most topics!

I've been a Workaway-er in Italy and Japan and have truly respected the give-give opportunities which I've experienced!

The cool thing that we've experienced with Workaway is that people whom we've hosted have reciprocally hosted us in return! This past spring 2019 we stayed with Catalonia folks in their hometowns and that was the ultimate return of travel friendships.

We are fun and adventurous people! You will have the chance to explore the amazing landscapes within the town and overall region, meet new people, cook, eat and create with us. Montana is off the beaten path for international travelers, but once you visit, you will want to return!

We enjoy sharing our home and community with world travelers. We can help you to find local hiking trails, outdoor music festivals and other cultural events. Montana has many music and art events throughout the summer. World famous Yellowstone National Park is an interesting weekend trip. To do some of this: hiking or going to YNP, you would need to rent a car.

  • Accommodation

Our house is located in a residential neighborhood of Billings. Workawayer volunteer (or couple) will have a private bedroom and a private bathroom in the downstairs of our home. The main floor has our bedroom, the kitchen, living room, dining room and an additional bathroom.

Regarding food and meals, in general, we'll prepare the dinners and will have food available for breakfasts and lunches. If you enjoy cooking, that's another great option! On your days off, we can help direct you toward activities and possibly take you along for hikes and explorations. You'll need to pay your own way in situations such as restaurant meals, hotels, admissions to parks, camping fees, etc.

We have bicycles which you may borrow during your stay.

Our location is very convenient in the town (population = 100,000). We are 5 to 30 minute walk to airport, grocery stores, hospital, university, library, bars, restaurants and live music venues.
