Description
It is a project that seeks environmental protection in the northern region of Buenos Aires, Puntarenas. It began approximately 30 years ago, with the vision of creating a place where people could live in a self-sustainable way and in harmony with nature. For a long time, this was home to a community of more than 40 people who shared this vision. Currently, the group of people has been reduced to a team, and is not a community anymore, but the desire to transmit this to people remains. It is an ideal place in the mountains to heal and connect with oneself. We have worked with volunteers for many years, so we have experience as hosts, where what we mainly seek is not only to receive help, but to share these values and provide a place where people can reconnect and heal.
Es un proyecto que busca la protección ambiental en la región norte de Buenos Aires, Puntarenas. Esto dio inicio hace aproximadamente 30 años, con la visión de crear un lugar en donde se pudiera vivir de forma autosustentable y en armonía con la naturaleza.
Durante mucho tiempo este fue hogar de una comunidad de mas de 40 personas en donde se compartía esta visión, actualmente el grupo de personas se ha reducido y se mantiene un equipo, no una comunidad, pero se sigue el deseo de transmitir esto a las personas, es un lugar en las montañas ideal para sanar y conectar con uno mismo.
Desde hace muchos años hemos trabajado con voluntarios, por lo que tenemos experiencia como anfitriones, en donde lo que principalmente buscamos no es solo recibir ayuda, sino, compartir estos valores y brindar un lugar en donde se pueda reconectar y sanar.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Travelers will have the opportunity to meet new people, both from our team and from visitors and other volunteers. In addition to this, there is a cultural exchange with the Costa Rican peasant and indigenous culture, since the area is located between two indigenous reserves in the southern region of Costa Rica and close to peasant farming areas. On the other hand, the activities to be carried out provide learning mainly in organic agriculture, eco-tourism and conservation. Thanks to our journey of more than 30 years in the project, we can and want to share all our experience in topics such as environmental protection, self-sustaining lifestyle, regional culture and essentially on the physical and mental well-being that comes from connecting with nature.
Los viajeros tendrán la oportunidad de conocer nuevas personas, tanto de nuestro equipo como de visitantes y otros voluntarios. Sumado a esto, hay un intercambio cultural con la cultura costarricense campesina e indígena, ya que el área se encuentra en medio de dos reservas indígenas de la región sur de Costa Rica y con cercanía a zonas finqueras de campesinos.
Por otro lado, las actividades a realizar brindan un aprendizaje principalmente en agricultura orgánica, eco-turismo y conservación. Gracias a nuestro recorrido de mas de 30 años en el proyecto, podemos y queremos compartir toda nuestra experiencia en temas como la protección ambiental, estilo de vida autosustentable, cultura regional y esencialmente sobre el bienestar físico y mental que trae la conexión con la naturaleza.

Diversity of tasks, the most important thing is that you have a great desire to collaborate and help!
Main tasks:

The tasks that are carried out are very diverse and it is not always the same, but everything revolves around the previous list. There are many things to collaborate in, so if a task does not agree with you you can help with something different.
In most of the tasks you will be accompanied by someone else who can teach you and help you if necessary.
We also offer hikes and activities for your free time, visiting waterfalls, hiking, visiting indigenous areas, among others.
Diversidad de tareas, lo mas importante es que tengas grandes ganas de colaborar y ayudar!

Las tareas que se llevan a cabo son muy diversas y no siempre es lo mismo, pero todo gira alrededor de la lista anterior. Hay muchas cosas en las que colaborar, por lo que si una tarea no va de acuerdo contigo puedes ayudar con algo distinto.
En la mayor parte de las tareas estarás acompañado de alguien mas que te pueda enseñar y ayudar en caso de ser necesario.
También ofrecemos caminatas y actividades para tu tiempo libre, visitar cataratas, senderismo, visita a las zonas indígenas, entre otras.

Accommodation
For accommodation we have several cabins, some modern, others more rustic, made of wood. In these cabins there are private rooms and others shared, everything depends on the availability at the time and there is always the option to choose if possible. For food, we can provide 3 meals a day, either at times we provide you with food so you can cook and at other times we cook for you. All these cabins are surrounded by forest and with beautiful views of the mountains.
Para el alojamiento tenemos varias cabañas, algunas modernas, otras mas rusticas de madera. De este modo en estas cabañas hay cuartos privados y otros compartidos, todo depende de la disponibilidad del momento y siempre existe la opción de escoger en caso de ser posible.
Para la alimentación, podemos proveer 3 comidas diarias, ya sea que en algunos momentos te brindemos la comida para que puedas cocinar y en otras ocasiones cocinemos para ti.
Todas estas cabañas están rodeadas de bosque y con vistas hermosas hacia la montaña.
What else ...
Regarding transportation, since it is a remote place, we are responsible for providing transportation from the town of Buenos Aires to our facilities. Activities that you can do in the area include mountain hiking, there is a beautiful waterfall and a small lake. You can also make bonfires outdoors and enjoy the peace of the mountain.
As part of our team/family there are many cats and dogs on site, we hope you are friendly with them.
Respecto al transporte, al ser un lugar alejado, corre por nuestra parte ofrecer transporte desde el pueblo de Buenos Aires hasta nuestras instalaciones.
Como actividades que puedes realizar en el área es principalmente el senderismo de montaña, hay una hermosa catara y un lago pequeño. También se pueden hacer fogatas al aire libre y disfrutar de la paz de la montaña.
Como parte de nuestro equipo/familia hay muchos gatos y perros en el lugar, esperamos que seas amigable con ellos.
