Hello. We are Rob and Marina, both retiered and we live in the country (middle of nowhere) in the northern part of Holland called Friesland. Our small town is called Lippenhuizen. About 18 km from here are the bigger towns Heerenveen and Drachten.
We have a little private farm with some animals like: 1 horse, some sheep, a dog, two cats, some turtles, tropical frogs and bees (honey).
Around our house we have a big garden with flowers and special plants, a small forest part and further more grassland on approx. 3 hectare.
So: if you like animals and especially gardens and nature? This is the place to be!
You will discover the Dutch culture!
You can learn especially about Friesland, see the beautifull nature and see and taste the cultural things and history. Learn things about how things are done in our country and with animals.
You can experience the traditional Dutch countryside (flat farm lands)
We are close (20/30 min) to two national parcs: De Weerribben and Drents Friesche wold
We have a lot of work to do in the garden (mowing, removing weeds etc) and sometimes on the outside of the house and rest of the buildings. Next to the garden work we can have sanding and painting work on the outside of the barn to do and smaller maintenance around the house. Help with the animals is also a part of the work.
If you are interested, please let us know if you like these tasks and if you have experience with it (gardening, painting).
We take people for two weeks in a row if possible. If we both like it you can stay longer.
We only need one person at a time and without pets.
