Hello everyone!
We are Paola and Giacomo, a thirty-three year old couple interested in social / ecological experiences and knowing new cultures and people from all over the world. Paola is a middle school teacher in Italy and has carried out numerous voluntary activities in the socio-educational field: out of Italy her first volunteering experience was in Morocco (social development area), and the second one in Greece's refugee camps, in which she helped with social assistance to women and children of these camps. She lived a whole year in Burundi in 2024, helping Vispe association to create a nursery school in Nkuba village. This experience got her in touch with local traditions and language (that she learnt), as well as with farming and fields working. She is a curious person, open to experiences that are very different from those she has already had and who loves nature and animals.
Giacomo is a freelance filmmaker who currently works in the creative collective Uroboro Film. Giacomo deals with the creation of commercials, corporates, documentaries and short films. In recent years he has had several backpacking experiences in Europe including the St. Olav Way in Norway, the West Highland Way in Scotland and a solo trip in Finland.
Giacomo has learned informal English communication and ease in meeting new people. Thanks to his work he has developed, in addition to creative skills, also group organizational skills. Recently, when he joined Paola in Burundi for a month, he made a two-hour lenght documentary for the Vispe association.
Giacomo lives in the countryside so he is not afraid of the outdoors, manual work of all kinds and the presence of animals.
We look forward to sharing our skills and learning something new with you!
