I couldn't be luckier to meet them and I already miss them.
I hope I can go back one day and keep enjoying time together in their lovely house with breathtaking, green landscape. I felt inside a postcard the whole time! Wales and Welsh people are friendly, approachable and they are always willing to help you out. No doubt I want to visit it again!

The scenery was stunning. Maybe one of the most beautiful places in the world. The family was fun and we could share a lot with each other.
Katy and Aled were very helpful hosts. They provided you with plenty of information, directions and lifts. They were also sensitive to any dietary requirements. The kids were good fun as well. They all had very positive personalities. Try to get Idris to give you a bike tour if you can. Check out Aberystwyth, Tywyn beach and climb Cader Idris.

I learnt valuable DIY skills through working on the barn renovation, learnt how to cook up a wild salad with Beth, how to lose a wrestling match with Ianto and how not to cycle up a mountain with Idris! Katy and Aled like to go with the flow, are kind and respectful and always brought their great sense of humour. The home is in an ideal location and a short drive or cycle from stunning walks and scenery in the Snowdonia hills and the nearby seaside town of Tywyn.
Even as a first time workawayer and solo traveller I felt so at home and it was also so lovely to meet family friends and be a part of such a brilliant Welsh community, if only for a couple of weeks, so thank you so much for everything !

… read more perfectly happy spending our entire stay around their house but Katy and Aled were always very thoughtful and made sure we discovered as much as possible of the area.
Working and helping them with their projects honestly never felt like work. We did lots of things together with the family as a team, planned together, brainstormed together and everyone did their best to see things move forward and see the place transform. Any kind of work we did was always greatly appreciated, which was another reason we were always happy to help with anything.
The work we did was mostly outdoor stuff (such as landscaping, digging, stonewalling) combined with childcare and the occasional house-cleaning. We got to learn new skills and use tools the we had no previous experience with of which the coolest were building stone walls and operating a hydraulic digger.
But the most enjoyable of all tasks was always playing with the kids. Feels weird to even call it a task, we always looked forward to it and loved every moment of it.
