Rachel; she is a class act! Out on her own for all sorts of positivity, fun not being the least. As a worker , could not do enough to make my life easier in all sorts of small ways.Tho she was a bit tardy at arriving , the wait was worth it all. Totally immersed in Irish culture ,she even had such a grasp of the Gaeilge, dochreidte, unbelievable,. She just fitted in! Lovely Person and deeply political ,like myself!! So much so that she returns in a couple weeks on her next break to eat some harvest she helped to grow, Agus leabhair níos mó Gaeilge Fáilte Romhat ar ais, a Rachel (le Molly!)

Wooow would be the word we would chose if we have to choose one. We feel so happy to have lived with you Josie during seven weeks. A big big thank you for everything you did: taking care of Vangus, playing with Olivia and be sure she was safe at any time, to have cooked by your own three times and to have helped us at any time we needed, to have participated with cleaning the garden and storing the wood. We are so happy you were with us for the four days partying and dancing traditional dances for the birthday of Léo’s father. I (Laëtitia) was so touched by all our conversations (about politics, about everyday’s life, about travelling, about family) and by all the moments we have shared only you and me (in the bookshop in Espalion, down and around the castle, in the embroidery room). Thanks a lot for everything and be welcomed at any time here.

Fang was eager to learn and help with any and all requests. We so appreciate his energy and readiness, as well as the thoughtful discussions we shared. We would gladly welcome him back again!

Andrew and Bianca, you guys make for an excellent couple! The work you've done around the house is above all expectations. Even more important, you are good people - approachable, pleasant, grounded and straight forward. Chatting with you was always interesting and engaging as you are open to a wide array of topics. It was nice meeting you and as we said already numerous time - you are always welcome to our home, as friends. Wish you two all the best!!☺️

Victoria y Gastón son muy buenos anfitriones, son amables y atentos, la comida con ellos es muy diversa y están abiertos a probar cualquier tipo de comida que quieras preparar! Aprendí a usar muchas herramientas que tenían, disfruté de la vida de campo, compartí mates con ellos, y conocí gente interesante también. Recomiendo mucho Casa Uruti para quedarse, compartir, intercambio cultural, y conversaciones muy interesantes. Muchas gracias!!

Zacke war vom 14. bis einschließlich 20. 09. als Mitarbeiterin auf unserem Hof . Wir erlebten stets eine gutgelaunte, hilfsbereite und immer angaschierte junge Frau. Das nicht nur uns zu Gute kam. Sie kann mit Tieren sehr gut umgehen. Ob Hund oder Katz, alle lieben Zacke. Leider war auch bei Ihr die Zeit viel zu kurz, um sich richtig kennen zu lernen. Aber das werden wir nachholen. Denn aufgeschoben ist nicht aufgehoben. Wir freuen uns schon auf ein nächstes Mal und wünschen Zacke bis dahin alles Gute. Halte einfach die Ohren steif, in diesem Sinne , Deine Kaufmänner mit ihren Fellhasen.

Jocelyne and Jean-Claude were fabulous hosts. They showed genuine interest in getting to know us. They went out of their way to show us around and make us comfortable. Jocelyne is a wonderful cook and fed us very well. Their property and gardens are magnificent and it was a real pleasure to spend a few weeks here.

I spent three wonderful weeks with Elena, Giovanni and Yi Lan. It was my first time as a Workawayer and definitely not my last. From the very first moment they welcomed me so warmly and made me feel like a real part of the family which meant the world to me. Elena and Giovanni are incredibly kind and open-hearted people who always made sure I felt comfortable and at home. Even though my stay was relatively short we shared many memorable moments and had the chance to really get to know each other. We had interesting, funny and also deep conversations which I truly appreciated. Yi Lan is such a sweet, intelligent and funny girl. She is a great dancer and super energetic so it never gets boring with her:) We also went on several great trips together: we attended a concert and an airshow, visited Como, Torino, and Superga and I even got to meet Elena’s family. I had the chance to explore Torino on my own a few times as well and even took a solo trip to Milan for two days. Elena and Giovanni always offered to take me to and from Torino on their way to work which I really appreciated. They also gave me some great tips and recommendations for both cities. I have to mention the food as well – it was amazing:) I loved their passion for good food and the value they place on quality. The cheeses were incredible and every meal we shared was absolutely delicious. Both Elena and Giovanni are great cooks and I had the opportunity to experience real Italian cuisine. They even took me to some of their favorite restaurants and ice cream shops which I really enjoyed. I truly recommend this family to every Workawayer. I feel so lucky to have spent these three unforgettable weeks with you and I can’t thank you enough for this amazing experience!

We really enjoyed having Pedro stay with us, he is a lovely person that is very caring and compassionate. He is always very keen to learn new things and does so very quickly. He chopped a lot of firewood for our upcoming winter months, helped replace some rotten decking, removed lots of nails and screws from old planks, plus many more odd tasks around the farm. He got on very well with all the other volunteers and is very good at keeping spirits high with his positivity and good sense of humour. Pedro is able to entertain himself as well as be sociable which fits in very well with our hosting style. He chose to stay in our spare cabin instead of the main volunteer cabin (he overlapped by a few days with other volunteers and chose to continue staying in Kiwi cabin after they left), and in fact extended his stay with us by over a week up until the point we were worried he'd be late back to his studies 😆 A definite recommend to all hosts out there. We hope to have him back in the near future!

I spent three incredible weeks at Mint’s school, and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in Thailand so far. Teaching English to the children filled my days with laughter, smiles, and new learnings. Being here was not only a volunteering experience but also about being welcomed as part of a big family. I had the opportunity to teach and, at the same time, to travel a lot thanks to Mint’s kindness and her willingness to always put 101% of her passion into her work, projects, and support for the volunteers. The classes are mostly held in the afternoons from Monday to Friday, with flexible hours during the weekends. There is always the possibility to plan days off in advance, if needed. The children’s ages range from 4 to 16 years old, and every day I tried a different approach to teach English in a proactive, engaging, and joyful way. Mint’s school provides a wide variety of materials, videos, games, and books to enhance creativity in teaching English. I always felt free to share ideas with Mint and other volunteers, ask for suggestions, and learn from them. It felt like being part of a big team, always ready to support each other, go for a run in the park or travel around together. I also had the chance to record a short video to promote the school’s activities and work on some Canva projects to prepare new materials and classes for the students. All of these learnings were ablsolutely priceless, and contribute to acknowledge that this was one of the most valuable volunteering activity I have ever had. I’ll cherish these three beautiful weeks forever. Thank you, Mint, Nen, and the whole family, for everything you did for me. We have loved to share our daily life with Patricia. She was always happily eager to put hands on work: going from simple tasks to hard outside work. Her smile and joy were contagious. We truly hope to see her again. Don't hesitate to accept Patricia when she is looking for some workawaying with you: you will not regret. Was great having Katie come and help me .She is very caring, helpful and friendly .She was happy to do any tasks I needed help with , little tasks in the garden , a little social media help , cleaning the beach and gave a lot of love to my dogs . She was a great communicator , full of positivity and was a pleasure to host.

Although some time has passed, the memory of Thijmen and Fleur is still vivid and brings a sense of happiness to my mind and heart. Their help, company, sense of humour and positivity made them definitely essential part of the ‘temporary family’ of this Early past summer : thank you Thijmen and Fleur, remember you have an home in Tuscany whenever you want :-))

My time with this family was truly precious and meaningful to me. Even though I stayed a little less than two weeks, I was very happy to experience so many positive and new things. Serena always let me try different foods and snacks, which were all so delicious. She was always considerate of me and answered my many questions with kindness. She inspired me to improve my cooking skills so that one day I can prepare more diverse and tasty dishes for them. Francesco often asked me very interesting questions, and I really valued the fun conversations we shared. He also introduced me to many places in this area and nearby towns. I hope to improve my Italian so I can have even deeper conversations with him. Pietro takes such good care of David and is a very kind and reliable boy. Even though he is young, he is more mature than me in many ways, and I’m sure he will do well in anything he chooses. Michele knows how to wait patiently and is so talented in many things like football and comics. I believe he can become an excellent football player in the future. Riccardo is an energetic boy who loves to learn and play. He pronounced the Korean words I taught him very well, and I look forward to seeing what kind of career he will have when he grows up. David has the most beautiful smile. Whenever he smiles, it makes me feel happy too. The dog Zoe is the calmest and sweetest dog I have ever met. Walking with her was also a great way to explore every corner of the village. Lastly, Serena’s mother and father also treated me very kindly and explained many things about the Urbino area. This family gave me so many warm memories, and I will always be thankful for my time with them.

Damian is truly what a volunteer is meant to be. He is the definition of that kind of person who is always there to help or offer you a hand. On the other hand, he is a very sensitive young man as well as emotionally and spiritually very much in balance. He knows how to spend time on his own as well as how to enrol in healthy social relationships. Besides all that, he is a very skilled person, knows how to do certain complex things, so you can totally trust him in the use of all sort of tools. Definitely a jewel so, please, if he knocks on your door some day, don't hesitate to meet him. Thanks, Damian for having spent all this time with us in Àger. My time in Ruta 11 with Viktoriya, George, the horses, and the dogs was truly unforgettable. I learned not only about gardening, but also about the beauty of farm life. Viktoriya’s kindness and patience made every new lesson enjoyable. The atmosphere there is wonderfully serene; caring for the animals and sharing space with them felt magical. The dogs are sweet and it's lovely to have them around. Everything is well organized and clean, ensuring the best experience for everyone. If you like to have some months for yourself and you don't mind to be by your own, this is a good place for you. It was an experience that showed me the simple joys of life and the beauty of living close to nature.
