Heidi only had a week to stay at the farm. Though brief, she did quite a bit to help out keep the farm neat and trim. She took care of the chicken, ducks and geese, helped trim the grass, the hedges, cleared weeds in the vege patch and also cleaned the guest houses. Heidi fits in well with the farm family as well as the other couple volunteer. I would welcome Heidi again anytime and anyone should too..!

Tinne and Pieter are generous and welcoming hosts. Their gorgeous property in the Yarra Valley has various gardens, ponds, some animals, and spaces to relax and take walks in. The accommodation house for workawayers is spacious and comfortable, with a kitchen that is well equipped with different appliances if you are keen on cooking anything specific. As a solo traveller, I enjoyed sharing the experience with other workawayers and being able to socialize in the afternoons and evenings. Our workdays mainly consisted of weeding and taking care of the beautiful gardens. Tinne and Pieter took us out to explore some of the local area and attractions on our days off, which I appreciated a lot. Thank you, Tinne and Pieter, for your hospitality and kindness.

Anne and Steve are kind people and accommodating hosts, with a lovely property surrounded by nature and plenty of wildlife. It was quite a special experience to be able to see so many kangaroos around the property every morning and evening. The given tasks were varied and interesting and usually outdoors, involving the gardens. The guest bedroom is bright and comfortable, and Steve cooked a delicious meal each night. Thank you Anne and Steve for your hospitality, all the best.

The Rina family supported us from the very beginning, and although they initially only wanted to take in one person because they already had another backpacker staying with them, they welcomed us both warmly. Together, we prepared the Airbnbs for the holiday season and spent time with Emily, Alexa, and Mike. The big sisters lovingly take care of their brother and have many interests, so there is plenty to do with them. Will and Tanya have specific ideas about tasks, but they are always involved and open to discussion. Overall, we are incredibly grateful for the time we spent together and wish you all the best! Thank you for the great experience and welcoming atmosphere ❤️

John and Cher have been incredible hosts to me during my split two-week stay. They are warm, understanding, and knowledgeable people, and I've learned a lot from both of them. The work was very manageable, 4 hours-ish each day with a day off, and they were flexible with how I went about it. I was even able to go do a couple of tramps and bike rides they recommended after I was done working and on my days off. The accommodation is very comfortable, and the food is fantastic. I wasn't aware going into it that they are mostly vegetarian, but I loved their food and routine. I'd definitely recommend staying with them if you're keen on exploring the greater Tasman Bay area, as between the two of them, they can help guide you toward whatever adventure you're looking for.

Que linda experiencia vivimos con Marcos y Pilar son unos humanos muy agradables y serviciales, me ayudaron en todo tipo de trabajos. recepción de huéspedes, mantención de las instalaciones, camping y cabañas, construcción de una cocina comunitaria, mantenimiento del jardín y huerta. Siempre dispuestos a darte una mano y a conversar sobre algún tema interesante. la convivencia fue exelente, siempre muy respetuosos y con ganas de ayudar en lo que sea. muchisimas gracias por toda vuestra ayuda. Wow, what an experience with Lucas and Nicolas. We had 2 amazing weeks with them. My family enjoyed their presence. They help me with a lot of hard work (Breaking stone, carrying wood and building a wall, etc...). They helped with house chorses and played with the children. Thank you to Lucas and Nathan for your hard work! together, we ploughed the field and planted wheat…💪🏽 among other tasks, they also helped cut grass in our orchard - the traditional way ! thanks too for adapting to our life without machines .., Nathan takes wonderful photos, and Lucas is eager about birds. Nancy, Gabriel, and Éinar are THE perfect family to stay with if you're hoping to find the sweetest giggles from the most independent 3 year old, a wagging tail from their happy dog Boni (often waiting at your cottage door), or occasional dinner gatherings with stories of Italy and Spain! What an honor to be a volunteer where I get to spend my days laughing alongside Éinar through the grass with their cat, "Misi", finding her way to us every time. Nancy was amazing since the beginning at being concise and clear on expectations and needs, which made it an amazing transition there, as she also helped plan out some trains and buses to them from the airport. She was more then willing to help me often! I learnt so much from their sweet lifestyle away from the people, surrounded by the most beautiful views. I got a tour of their expanding garden and even met some wonderful neighbors over the 3 weeks I spent there. It was the perfect situation for me, as I was hoping to escape into my books, thoughts, and walks. My weekends were filled with visiting friends and other parts of Asturias that captured my attention almost as much as Piloña. Highly recommend experiencing this families sweet corner of the world, I wish I could call my own. Dopo, Nicole

Staying with Shonara and her family was a truly wonderful experience. I felt welcomed from day one and was treated as part of the family throughout my stay. Helping with everyday household tasks and working with their little one was genuinely lovely and never felt overwhelming. Communication was always respectful and considerate — I was regularly asked about my own plans, especially on weekends, and there was a lot of flexibility where possible. I’m very grateful for the kindness, openness, and trust I experienced and would highly recommend this Workaway to anyone looking for a warm, respectful, and culturally enriching stay.

Patrick is a very polite and capable young man. He did a wonderful job oiling the deck and helping with cleaning tasks.

Jorge stayed for a month with me and was an invaluable help. He was happy to work where he could be of help and performed the tasks with care and skill. He worked mainly in the garden doing weeding planting and redesign. He worked hard and was joyful in his work. He is a lovely honest kind person whom is easy to cohabit with. Uau, que experiência magnífica eu vivi! Passei uma semana na casa do Palmas e foi simplesmente transformador. Tive a oportunidade de aprender muitas coisas, desde agrofloresta e agrofauna até bioconstrução. Mas, acima de tudo, aprendi muito com o próprio Palmas. Ele é uma pessoa incrível, com um lado humano e parceiro que me cativou profundamente. É o tipo de pessoa que dá gosto de estar por perto e de quem dá vontade de aprender sempre mais. O lugar é extremamente acolhedor, cercado pela natureza, com cachoeiras, trilhas para explorar e produtores locais de leite. Mesmo com o tempo não sendo dos melhores por causa da chuva, a estadia foi muito agradável e cheia de aprendizados, ainda mais considerando que foi a minha primeira experiência de Workaway. Quero deixar aqui minha profunda apreciação ao Palmas, por ser alguém com tanto conhecimento para compartilhar e, ao mesmo tempo, com uma enorme abertura para trocar ideias. Tivemos conversas riquíssimas sobre diversos temas: agrofloresta, bioconstrução, técnicas de conservação, política e muito mais. É uma convivência que realmente expande a mente. Em relação ao trabalho, ele é bem dinâmico e variado: desde plantio de árvores até construções e outras atividades práticas. Não é nada monótono pelo contrário, é aprendizado constante na prática. É um lugar excelente para quem quer se conectar com a natureza, encontrar momentos de paz e, ao mesmo tempo, crescer pessoal. Recomendo de verdade a todos que buscam uma experiência autêntica, rica em aprendizado e conexão. :::)))))

Shahab and Anna were amazing. They brought an incredible amount of hard work, care, and energy to our arts collective, and supported us across so many areas, from website work to decor, events, and anything else that needed to be done. Their attitude and presence were consistently positive, generous, and thoughtful. They made a big impact on the space and the community, and they are leaving not just as collaborators but as dear friends! We would absolutely recommend them for any future projects, work trades, or opportunities.
