It was a pleasure to host Pierre. At first he seemed a little shy, but we quickly saw his kind heart. Whenever the children approached him, he happily joined in their play, and it was lovely to see their connection. During his stay, the Workaway house was always kept clean and tidy, which we greatly appreciated. He also showed real care for our kids & family, and all the people he met here in the community. I'm truly thankful for his thoughtfulness and the respect he gave to this international exchange community.

Sally and Toby are beautiful and kind people, true rays of sunshine. They saved my experience in Australia and provided me with everything I needed. They are without a doubt the best encounter of this trip. My two friends and I spent three months with them. We formed a strong bond. They have become true friends. If you're looking for a safe place, you'll find everything you need here. Thank you for everything, I'll miss you ❤️

I very much enjoyed my 2-1/2 weeks at Franklin's farm. Although I never met Franklin he was very good at communicating through workaway and has a beautiful piece of land. Angel is the caretaker over there and I worked mostly with him, he's a sharp guy with a great sense of humor. The work was very fun for me, it is not complicated although some other workawayers found it difficult at times I think it helps to speak spanish if you come here when Franklins not around. I learned a lot about Costa Rican agricultural practices through Angel.

Poppy was part of our family for about a month in September 2025 and she is an excellent workawayer: I can recommend her help to anyone. She speaks excellent Italian and she understands it well, she's always smiling, well-mannered, pleasant to talk to but not intrusive, patient, cheerful, and imaginative with children, always willing to offer her help around the house, even beyond what was requested, and always available even on days and at times that should have been free for her. She happily eats any food and she appreciates Italian cuisine and culture; she always ate with us at meals, demonstrating her desire to be part of our family, and she even shared some weekend trips with us, always with a smile and enthusiasm. She often cuddled our dog Molly and she lovingly helped with her care. Our entire family will sincerely miss her, and we are immediately grateful: if I could, I would give her 10 stars! Poppy will remain a special friend in our hearts, and we hope to meet her again in the future.

Tara and Trevor were incredible hosts and people! Can't speak highly enough about both of them. The work was engaging and fun to do, accommodation was incredible, staff were friendly (and many became good friends), and it is so interconnected within the community in Gigante. Burger Nights are great opportunities to meet fellow volunteers, expats, and locals. I was also a major fan of the Trivia Nights hosted in town. Also being so close to some incredible breaks made surfing so easy. Can easily walk to Amarillo and catch some waves there or hop a ride with Armando/Ronald on the boat or Kevin in the 4Runner to even more breaks. Perfect opportunity for anyone wanting to work on their photography/social media skills (given you have an adequate baseline), as well as their surfing. Definitely was a hard place to leave, but I'm sure I'll be back soon, like everyone says when leaving Gigante! Miss y'all! Willie

Mahlin is a wonderful person. She looks shy at the beginning but then she gets comfortable and you get to know her more. As a volunteer we have zero problems and she aleways exceeded in her tasks. We wish she could have stay way longer cause we miss her a lot

Antonin was one of the most genuine, reliable and awesome workawayers I've ever hosted. He's punctual, does a great job, is a tonne of fun to be around. While he was here, he cleared the post-winder garden litter and weeds (three wheelie bins full), laid and cut garden edging, welded gutters, sanded and painted trims perfectly. Recommend Antonin 10/10 Plus, his judo is amazing. He taught a class at my club and the students loved it!

I worked with Fred's organization in Mwihoko, Kenya and it was absolutely amazing! The work he's doing in Mwihoko is incredibly important. I was able to meet several people living with epilepsy whose lives he changed just by giving them access to EEG testing and medication to ease the symptoms. I worked with them for almost 2 months and while there I was able to tutor high school students that he sponsors from the area, women raising epileptic children in rural Kenya, and adults living with epilepsy. Additionally, I went to their free medical camp where around 400 people from the surrounding area came to access free healthcare at no cost. Everyone got in for free, no fee at the door. He paid for all of it out of pocket. The President and Vice President from the IBE even showed up at one point. Amazing work! I stayed with his mother, Ms. Rose, and she is such a wonderful woman, I really enjoyed my time hanging out with her listening to her words of wisdom. Such a kind and beautiful family. God bless them. Definitely come and support!!

Felix is a wonderful person and volunteer! We have very much appreciated his help: he is very pro active, punctual and always eager to learn new skills. After a few daily routines (sweeping and such) Felix helped us during the mornings with landscaping, dry stone walling, agroforestry practices and improving our driveway. We have always very much enjoyed working together, and fondly remember how he got seriously interested in permaculture when he started binge watching syntropic agroforestry videos :) Moreover, Felix is a very sociable, communicative, mature, friendly and respectful person with whom we have enjoyed many interesting conversations. He is 150% recommended, you won’t regret having him as a volunteer! Thanks so much for everything Felix and enjoy your further journey :)

Alright listen carefully, They are the bests people I know on earth! Don't even think about it and go live the real Australian experience. My personal experience was amazing! They have so much to share and teach, we had so much fun, we laughed so hard we couldn't breathe anymore ! It has been the best time, the best experience and we will come back, not as workawayers but as friends. here are few examples of what we learned... 1) we learned how life works in a true and big Australian farm ! 2) we learned about the local people and the country, went on a big hike and we had a really good time with everyone 3) The cooking !! we tried Australian food, English food, Italian food, Indonesian food,.. and a lot more. 4) we also learned a lot about ourselves and we've grown up during this amazing time. I could continue like that for a long time.. If you want to have the opportunity to go and meet them, go and enjoy.

¡100% recomendado!

Our stay with Kerri and her family was simply unforgettable! From the first day, we felt so warmly welcomed and at home. Kerri has a golden heart , she takes care of everyone around her with kindness, courage, and generosity. She truly inspired us. During our month there, we not only helped in the garden (and had so much fun seeing the project come to life!), but we also got to share amazing dinners, deep conversations, and wonderful experiences together. They have two puppy Stella and Molly who are the sweetest! Meeting Kyle was such a joy too! And even though Eli was often busy with work, he was always so kind and we really enjoyed the conversations we had with him. We also discovered the real spirit of Canadian life in Didsbury: the parade, the farm visits, the community, and so many beautiful little moments that made our stay unique. Kerri, you are one of a kind. Thank you for sharing your story with us, for your trust, and for making us feel part of your family. We already miss you all and truly hope our paths will cross again. We couldn’t recommend Kerri and her family enough. Anyone who has the chance to stay with them will feel welcome, inspired, and part of something truly special.

My experience at Sandra’s and Keith’s place was great. After the daily chores (feeding the animals), I spent some time helping Keith with extracting honey and preparing bee boxes for the winter/ feeding the bees. Time to time, I was helping Sandra to bake or to cook. Both of them were very open-minded and would answer all of the many questions I had on Canadian history, their culture and on much more :) They introduced me to their family and friends. I had great time in Saskatchewan. Thank you for hosting me! All best, Veronika

I stayed at Clare’s cozy home for one week. It was lovely days for me, and I enjoyed it. Even though my English is not good, and my stamina is low, she accepted me. I really appreciate her kindness, consideration, and understanding. I worked taking care of her garden, cleaning home, and doing experiences of taking care of her horses. She taught me kindly and clearly how to do something. She welcomes several workawayer, so I met one lovely couple. The meals and desserts were delicious and luxurious. She shared the fresh vegetables she grew up. We took turns cooking dinner, so it was a good opportunity to learn about foreign cuisines from around the world. Her smile is beautiful, and when she checked new flower seeds, her smile was especially so bright. I really see that she loves gardening. I learned about her lifestyle with nature. Everything was a new discovery for me. It was precious experience for me. Thank you very much ☺️

Louis was with us for 2 weeks in August. It was great fun hosting Louis, he was always eager to find jobs to do and completed them all very well. Louis stained my fence and also completed a door painting project. Louis was also really great at taking care of our 2 dogs, taking them for walks. He is also good at cooking and make a really nice potatoe curry dish. It was a real pleasure to host Louis, and I would absolutely recommend him to any other Workaway host. Take care Louis and all the best in your studies and hope to meet up again sometime!
