Ho trascorso due mesi a casa di Daniele e andarmene è stato difficilissimooo. Ho passato un mese meraviglioso in sua compagnia, e poi un altro mese da sola a prendermi cura del suo giardino e dei gatti mentre lui era in viaggio. Daniele mi ha accolta con un sorriso che non abbandona mai il suo volto, e mi ha fatto sentire a casa fin dal primo momento. Sono così felice della bella connessione che abbiamo creato. Ogni semplice momento della vita quotidiana, dalla colazione alla cena, è divertente con lui. Grazie per il tuo buon umore e la tua fiducia, grazie per aver condiviso così tante storie meravigliose, i tuoi progetti pazzi e i tuoi viaggi, grazie per le risate che abbiamo condiviso. La tua compagnia è stata preziosa. Mi sono sentita davvero a casa e accolta anche con suoi amici. Ho imparato tantissimo sulle piante tropicali che coltiva. L'agriturismo è un luogo molto confortevole, pieno di magia e di storia, dove la creatività di Dani e la forza della natura vivono in armonia; è un posto estremamente ispiratore. Je reviendrai très vite en Sicile, et en attendant, je t’attends en Espagne cette année ! A presto Dani 🙏🏻 mi manchi! 🐱🐱🐱🐱🐱

Tamara was an outstanding Workaway volunteer who brought energy, professionalism, and genuine warmth to everything she did. Her English teaching with our staff was clear, engaging, and thoughtfully adapted to different levels, making a real and lasting impact on everyone’s confidence. With the children, she was creative, patient, and endlessly enthusiastic, leading fun activities that kept them motivated and happy. She showed great initiative, reliability, and a positive attitude every single day, always going above and beyond what was expected. We would welcome her back without hesitation and highly recommend her to any host looking for an exceptional volunteer.

We enjoyed having Cleo and Stu volunteer with us. They are a lovely considerate and kind couple who were able to get on with any task they chose off our long to-do lists. All jobs were completed to a great standard so we were ready to move on to the next plans for each space after they left, especially the vege patch and orchard. A great job was done of mowing and weed eating which is such an ongoing chore. By the time they left, the garden and orchard areas were much improved and looked so good. I loved the fact they spent time with our little pack of greyhounds who absolutely love visitors and new people... (especially at dinner time!) and that they were genuinely happy to be around them. I also loved that I could just leave them to choose the jobs they felt they could handle and manage their own time which was a real bonus. I'm glad they took opportunities often; to visit the many attractions we have in the area, despite Cleo nearly being knocked out by a falling tree at kerosene creek! A NZ travel story for your grandkids! I recommend Cleo and Stu to anyone considering hosting this competent couple. Happy and safe travels onwards!

Entrare nel loro sistema è stato un salto in una piccola società parallela che porta in sé elementi della società comune e altri completamente opposti. Ci vuole uno sguardo umile e non giudicante per entrare nella loro casa. Io sono grata di aver toccato, anche solo per poco, l’anima di alcuni di loro: sguardi potenti, cuori grandi e fragili. Vedi la materia e sei sicuro dello spirito che li circonda. Qualunque sia la scelta che ha mosso questi animi a unirsi, sta portando alla creazione di una piccola oasi magica. Un’oasi non chiusa alla comunità: ammiro la loro voglia di aprirsi al mondo con la forza del volontariato. Il gruppo non è l’unione di individui singoli: sono un plotone, a tratti militare, a tratti un’entità magica che si muove insieme. Vivono per l’altro, perx il loro bosco, il loro lago, la raccolta e la donazione del cibo e per i mattoni che danno vita a progetti futuri. Vivono guidati da un centro che unisce materia e spirito. Farne parte è un esercizio di ascolto e osservazione. Per me è stato un esperimento: vado avanti con consapevolezze maggiori. Fatevi attraversare da loro, mettetevi da parte per poco tempo. Lì, dove il tempo è fluido e circolare.

What an experience! This is a magical place, amazingly beautiful and sorrounded by jungle. This includes stunning sunrises, sunsets and views and also all kind of animals. If you expect high standards in terms of luxury or hygiene just be aware that here you are in the middle of the jungle, so things get dirty easily and animals get inside your house, beacuse actually you are in their home! You will be able to enjoy watching tucans, lapas, sloths, all kind of monkeys, iguanas, dart frogs and also snakes, maybe scorpions, and of course all kind of insects. It is important to be able to adapt to this to enjoy your stay. In terms of the work, it is very chill and easygoing. Our main tasks were cleaning duties and keeping the cabins ready for the guests, general maintenance around the place (gardening, manual labour, creating and painting some parking signs), translation in jungle tours and welcoming guests, and of course the main renovation at the little house. They are flexible with schedules and if you communicate nicely with others you can follow your own rythm and needs while contribuiting to the group. Lis and Danger welcomed us to their home and it was an interesting and beautiful cultural exchange for wich we are grateful. Allison was an amazing host and had great communication with us during all of our journey. She helped us with many things, made sure everything was rolling and working for everyone and the vibes were always friendly and fun! We will always cherish this place that welcomed us to Costa Rica and brought us good times, adventures and growth. Arnau and Rita :)

We had a wonderful three weeks with Taku, Hannah and their baby. From the very beginning, they made us feel incredibly welcome at their beautiful home. They are both so kind and easy to be around, which made the experience even more special and we shared a lot of thoughts, laughter and quality time together :) The sunset bouldering session, the sunset beer/cocktail evenings and swimming unter the waterfall will be long lasting happy memories! Helping out with the chalets was fun and we learned a lot along the way. We were also able to explore the surrounding, during hikes, a visit to a local coffee farm and the town trips which were also very exciting. We are very grateful for our time with Taku and Hannah and can wholeheartedly recommend them to any Workawayer looking for a meaningful, friendly, and enriching experience. Hannah & Nils :)

The first days Jan helped me in the garden until my best friend came to visit with her two lovely children. I do a lot of sport and social activities and we asked Jan to babysit the children a couple of hours per day. My friend was so happy she could join me. Jan is a sensitive and kind guy and the children loved him. After I had to go to France for a couple of weeks and Jan was available. He took well care of my cat, my friend's dog and my house until I came back. I can really recommend him. Good guy !

We loved having Henry and Beth volunteer with us. They are a great couple with a great attitude :) Among other chores, they mostly helped in the garden which we needed to get ready for summer, where they made an overgrown, weedy mess into a blank slate ready for all the vege seedlings to go in. Such a great help! We also loved that they had great interactions with our greyhounds which is always important to us because these sensitive, beautiful dogs, although very large, can sometimes be a little intimidating to those not used to being in such close quarters with them, especially so many at once! However, Beth and Henry were amazing with the houndies, and very tolerant at dinner time when there was sometimes a dog on either side watching every mouthful. lol. I recommend this lovely couple to any hosts. We were grateful for their help and wish them all the best with their onward travels!

Tristan was a truly amazing Workawayer. While he was here he completed many heavy tasks around the house and garden. He made a new path through the fernery, positioning heavy logs into a raised wall and filling the space with many bags of dirt and leafy material - cleared and pruned lots of trees, with a handsaw - did many trips to the quarry with me, and hauled the bags of sand down the steep garden - (with the help of his strong friend Erik) moved a cast iron bath down the hill to the garden - dug out and exposed drains so I could get plumbing work done - and did lots of weeding work on a steep hillside I couldn't get to - All this in 10 days!! - he was a miracle worker! Tristan was also very easy to have around the house - a kind and friendly guy - getting on well with the other helpers - respecting my home and my need for rest and privacy - appreciating my cooking efforts. - and showing great patience with the restrictions of my health condition. I have no hesitation in recommending Tristan to any future hosts or employers. He's a great guy with many talents and is welcome back here any time in the future.. If he requests a Workaway place with you, say yes! You won't regret it. Thanks for everything Tristan and have lots of happy travels in New Zealand, with your new van. Thanks for everything.

I spent the month of November in Palín, at this English Academy, and it was my first Workaway experience. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. From day one, I was welcomed so warmly by everyone at the academy. The atmosphere is friendly, respectful, and full of positive energy. The tasks were varied, which made the experience even better — from interviewing students to assess their level, to teaching English to students of different ages. The academy is a truly dynamic place where respect is a real value, not just a word. Raul and all the teachers genuinely care about making a difference in people’s lives, and you can feel it every single day. Raul’s leadership and big heart really make all the difference. From the moment you arrive, he makes you feel comfortable, takes time to explain everything, and supports you as you get settled. Transportation, water, food, advice — you never lack anything. Raul is also incredibly generous, and we even had the chance to share some pizza meals with the other teachers, which was such a nice way to connect and feel part of the team. The apartment is perfect, located in a calm and secure gated community. It feels like a small village where you can find everything you need, and it’s very safe — you can even go for evening walks without any worries. Sincerly, I have only good things to say about my whole experience. Raul, I’m truly grateful for everything. Muchísimas gracias!! :)

This was my first and most fantastic house-sitting experience. I was warmly welcomed from the minute I set foot in Germany, and was treated like a part of Susanna and Rainer’s family the entire time. It was lovely getting to chat with them about life and their travels; they have great adventures to share! Moreover, I got to regularly spend time with some of their family members, who graciously adopted me during my stay. :) The tasks- which were only caring for Mia, their cat, watering the plants, and accepting the mail, were quite simple. Mia was calm, very well-behaved, and became a friend early on. Another highlight for me was experiencing some of the Christmas markets from the area, which were delightful. Spending time or doing an exchange with this family is a must! You will leave with a happier heart. <3

I arrived at this place around December 10th and, unfortunately, due to family reasons, I had to leave after only two days. Carlos was very understanding about the situation. Even in such a short time, however, it was clear that this is a beautiful place: very peaceful and deeply immersed in nature. The work is physical, but it takes place in a really pleasant and positive environment.

Sono stata ospite da Valentina per circa un mese e mezzo, nel periodo tra fine ottobre e inizio dicembre, e la mia esperienza è stata a dir poco straordinaria. Era la prima volta che viaggiavo da sola e anche la prima esperienza con un progetto di Workaway, quindi partivo con molta curiosità . Alla fine ...tutto ha superato di gran lunga le mie aspettative! Valentina è stata un’host impeccabile: accogliente, disponibile e molto rispettosa. La sua casa è confortevole; avevo a disposizione una stanza singola che garantiva piena privacy, mentre gli spazi comuni erano ben organizzati e piacevoli da vivere. La cucina era completamente attrezzata e Valentina faceva una spesa settimanale sempre varia, sana e vegetariana, cosa che ho apprezzato moltissimo. I miei compiti consistevano principalmente nel mantenere la casa in ordine e pulita. La casa è piuttosto grande ma assolutamente gestibile, e le attività erano ben equilibrate, lasciando anche molto spazio al tempo libero e alla scoperta dell’isola. In casa vivevano Valentina e suo figlio, entrambi sempre gentili, rispettosi e cordiali, oltre a tre gattini adorabili e molto tranquilli che rendevano l’ambiente ancora più speciale. Ogni mattina iniziavamo la giornata con la pratica di Kundalini Yoga, della durata di circa due ore: un momento prezioso di connessione, centratura e crescita personale che ha dato un grande valore aggiunto a tutta l’esperienza. La posizione della casa è abbastanza comoda; personalmente consiglio di avere un mezzo proprio, come un’auto o ancora meglio uno scooter, per muoversi liberamente a Tenerife. In ogni caso, proprio sotto casa c’è una fermata dell’autobus che collega direttamente alle principali zone turistiche del sud, come Los Cristianos e Las Américas. In generale, a casa di Valentina si respira sempre un’energia molto positiva: un ambiente fatto di amore, rispetto per gli spazi personali, ascolto e serenità. È stata un’esperienza che mi ha arricchita profondamente, sia a livello umano che personale, e che porterò con me come un ricordo davvero prezioso. Grazie Valentina

Ceyda, Recep and toddler, Kamile are a sweet family and I enjoyed having a "workaway" experience with them. It was especially nice because I'm also a host and I've raised children and have a new granddaughter. It was fun to learn with them and to share some experiences. It was wonderful that their day was paced largely on that of Kamile and that it felt rhythmical and upbeat. It was great to be there off-season and I could feel the energy of what must have been a bustling summer in the area with tourists, enjoying the beautiful waterfront that I got to spend time on. They taught me a little about farming with goats, and increased my love of foraging by finding wild fennel, searching for mushrooms and harvesting olives. They were generous with their time and showed me around the area. We even had a lovely midday meal with a neighbor who had been in the area for many decades. They had me meet them at the fisherman's cooperative on the island and that was a very special experience. I loved watching the locals playing board games and sipping tea and just feeling the depth of the community energy. I enjoyed our deep chats about personal strivings, balancing family, and motherhood, etc etc. The food was amazing and home-cooked and I was grateful for their bending with my little food preferences. It was a wonderful experience and I hope others will follow me and "be in the moment" which was often so serene. Thank you! I certainly hope to come back. ❤️🙏😊

This was our first Workaway experience, and we had a wonderful stay with Cynthia and her family for five weeks. We were warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The accommodation was comfortable and allowed us to have our own private space, which we really appreciated. The tasks were varied and easy to do (housework, laundry, gardening, etc.). The exchanges were very pleasant, and we were able to practice English on a daily basis in a kind and supportive environment. Cynthia is a very friendly and open person, always listening, and she gives excellent advice for sightseeing. She encouraged us and helped us plan our different trips around Ireland. The whole family was truly wonderful with us, as were their lovely companions, with whom we shared many great moments of play and cuddles.

You guys are so cute and nice. You helped us a lot. Thank you so much!

Fue maravillosa la experiencia. La familia tiene un proyecto muy bonito y consistente. Son cálidos, aportan al aprendizaje del voluntario y permiten un intercambio cultural y de conocimientos muy valioso. Dan instrucciones claras para el transporte y ayudan a que todo se dé de la mejor manera. El trabajo fue grato. Ayudé a lijar y pintar una puerta y unas paredes, y a hacer una pequeña pared de machimbre, todo con orientación y con los materiales necesarios. Lo otro importante a resaltar es que el lugar es hermoso; el paisaje, el espacio para caminar, la tranquilidad y la seguridad. Realmente les recomiendo este lugar, esta familia y esta experiencia. Gracias de todo corazón a los 3, y al abuelo por las enseñanzas.

Nathan and Anita were absolutely great workaways! We were very happy to receive their help. They are very nice persons, friendly with all, hard workers, flexible, amazing with others and independent in their jobs. They took care of our animals, 3 dogs, cats, one sheep, chickens, and 6 donkeys. They helped during the harvest of the olives, cleaned some in the garden, cut bushes, made a new path. They worked beyond the task and we miss them a lot. I would leave my house and be happy with them being responsible of everything. We also did some essential oils, and their work cutting the herbs was much appreciated. Thank you both of you and good luck!
