Nele and Mia were polite, pleasant houseguests. They are willing learners with adventurous spirits! Workers at my place need to be self-directed so it's not ideal here for people who are better suited to a more structured environment with closer hands-on guidance and mentoring. Thanks again for your contribution and all the best for your ongoing travels.

We experienced Kim as a consistently joyful, warm, and loving presence. She worked very independently and showed a deep sense of responsibility in everything she did. The love and care she gave to our animals, to our daughter Ella, and to us was truly special and deeply felt. The months flew by, and along the way Kim found a very special place in our hearts. We witnessed her grow day by day, stepping more and more into her own strength and authenticity. it was beautiful to experience this from so close. Kim built a unique and meaningful connection with each of the animals. Her intuition, patience, and genuine care were evident in the way she interacted with them. She was always open to learning, contributing her own ideas, and embracing new experiences. What started as a Workaway stay naturally grew into a deep connection. Kim became part of our family, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she brought into our lives and into this place. She is always welcome here, and we wholeheartedly recommend her to any host

Cameron stayed some 12 days with us and what a great cultural exchange that was! We shared stories, meals and laughs together. Opened trails and conquered new peaks. She helped with so many tasks around here and prepared some great meals. She immediately became part of the team and offered everyone a helping hand. We are really grateful and sorry to see her go. Thank you so much for the help!

Alvic changed our life. With his positivity, enthusiasm and genuine interactions, he reminded us of what life is all about. Leaving everything behind and fully jumping on this trip, he showed us what it's like to be free. He introduced daily push-ups contests that brought us so much fun. We hiked mountains together, collected mushrooms and enjoyed his great meals. He repaired our wooden counters, doors and ceilings. He amused us with his singing. He played with our dogs. I could be going on and on.... but there's no reason. If Alvic knocks on your door, do yourselves a favor and let him in. This is not a workaway exchange, this a lifetime experience! My Workaway experience with Cecil was a mix of good and bad, but overall, I wouldn’t recommend it. The farm was beautiful—lush, green, with lots of fresh fruit, cute dogs, and plenty of space to wander. Cecil’s kids were adorable and fun to talk to, and her husband, Ceasar, was friendly when he was around. However, things took a turn when my partner got sick with what we suspected was COVID. She had migraines, body chills, and a sore throat, so she couldn’t work. Since I wasn’t sick, I continued working, but after my first solo 3-hour shift, I was shocked to learn that Cecil expected me to work 6-hour shifts every day to make up for my partner. This felt unreasonable, especially for a volunteer position. One day, I had to travel to town to get medicine and groceries for my partner. It’s a full-day trip, and when I got back, Cecil seemed upset that I didn’t want to work afterward. On our last day, we had arranged to leave by 11am, but when we woke up, the WiFi was locked, and we were told to clean the entire area we’d been staying in. We didn’t mind sweeping up, but we were shocked to be asked to scrub the toilet and mop the floors, especially when the space hadn’t been very clean to begin with. Considering we had to buy all our own groceries, and the accommodations were basic (cold showers, no towels), the whole experience felt exploitative. There was little opportunity for cultural exchange or to learn about farming practices, so overall, it wasn’t a great experience.

Valery stayed some ten days with us. Hard-working, efficient and independent he helped a lot, no matter the task. A great chef, organized our kitchen and delivered amazing dishes. Thank you for everything.

François y Daria: Fue un placer tenerlos en casa. Han sido excelente compañía, desde ayudar en el jardín en diversos trabajos como el inicio de la construcción con los ladrillos ecológicos en la huerta y las tareas domesticas hasta los momentos divertidos como hacer pizza a la leña, ir a bailar al gimnasio y jugar juegos de mesa como los eternos monopolios y otros. Los perritos, especialmente Serena han disfrutado mucho con sus mimos. Los recomendamos por simpatía, entusiasmo y sus ganas de mejorar su español. Estamos seguras de que en cualquier sitio que los reciban estarán más que contentos con todo lo que tienen para aportar.

We enjoyed the time with Gruff for a week. He is the cutest boy we have ever met, always comes to have some cuddles 🥰 He especially loves to play his favorite strap and snuggle with us when we do some exercise on the yoga mats. And he is super easy to take care! Aaron and Mauritz are very welcoming, generous and communicative. Although we didn't have a chance to meet them in person, they gave us all the information we need and also gave us a lot of flexibility about check in and check out time. Their location is very good, near coop, Willy's supermarket, tram and bus stops. We usually go for a walk to the city centre (about 25-30 minutes) or explore the beautiful neighborhood. The atmosphere in Gothenburg is lovely, and we can also feel the vitality of this city even on cold days. The snow there is amazing too! Thanks a lot for having us! We've started missing lovely Gruff already. ❤️

Ella and Alina were fantastic! 💛They stayed in our home for five weeks to look after our beloved pup Sanna while we were overseas on vacation. Really have nothing but praise for these two. They kept us regularly updated on Sanna, often with pictures and videos. Super responsive and helpful. When we arrived back home, our house was pretty much exactly as we left it. They looked after everything so well, and seeing Sanna so at ease upon our return was the best part of all. Thank you soooo much for choosing us for the Swedish leg of your adventure, Ella and Alina! It was an absolute pleasure having you 💛

I Stayed with Lucia and Mario for 2 weeks and it was awesome! They are amazing people and have so much knowledge to share. They have an amazing garden with lots of fruit trees, it was a pleasure waking up everyday to see their beautiful backyard. Lucia cooks amazing meals 3 times a day usually, which was definitely the highlight of my stay, it was DELICIOUS, and they always used food from their own garden. the location is also great, Urubamba is beautiful and they are like a 25 minute walk from the center of town, its also super easy to take a moto taxi. Close to lots of archaeological sites and great hikes and there are Aton of cute cafes in town. The work was not difficult but this is not the place for you if you want to slack off or plan to have a lot of free time. We ate at 8 am and then worked until lunchtime which was around noon and then we had a midday break until 3 and then we worked again from 3-5. Weekends are freeThis schedule worked for me because I love taking a mid nap, and after working in the sun I was always quite tired. the only thing is that it does not really allow free time during the week to do anything significant . There are some things that are inaccurate on the profile 1. There is no wifi and the service is not good, so I would have to go into town to a cafe to get any work done or make video calls, service worked enough to send messages and make regular calls but anything more than that didn't work well, latest for me, and also my coworker. 2. hot water is very limited, something to consider as there are usually more than 1 workawayer. You definitely have to be OK with taking cold showers even when it is cold outside. overall my stay was very enjoyable! Gracias por todo!!

Nous sommes arrivés chez Thierry en fin juillet 2024 pour débuter notre aventure en France et nous n'aurions pas pu rêver mieux ! Faire la rencontre de Thierry a été un véritable plaisir et une belle surprise riche en découvertes. Nous avons très bien été accueillis et disposions d'une grande indépendance pour que chacun ait son intimité, merci pour ça. Nous avons beaucoup appris au sujet des abeilles et sur le métier de Thierry, ce qui nous a grandement intéressés. Calme, ouvert d'esprit, et rempli de ressource avec un brin d'humour bien placé, Thierry est une personne que nous n'oublierons pas. Nous aimons son chez lui si paisible, sa compagnie attachante, les personnes (et animaux) qu'il nous a fait rencontrer, sa liberté et son partage. Au plaisir de discuter autour d'un bon repas, ou danser ensembles à l'occasion ! Maël et Luna ( sorry pour la réponse très tardive, nous sommes enfin à la maison !)

I had the pleasure to stay with Yehonathan and Vered for a month and it was the best workaway experience to date. They have a beautiful place in the mountain, fresh air with beautiful treks. I worked with them both for a total of 3 hours a day with Physical Therapy and training. It was a lovely transaction, they have a lovely warm energy and really do make you feel at home. If you get the chance to join them do it. We went out to shop once a week and got to explore the Island with them on the weekends. A lovely combination of work, leisure, peace and quiet. I will miss the whole experience and can't wait till I return :)

​I just wanted to say a massive thank you for staying with us these past few weeks. It’s been absolutely brilliant having Raff around! I truly enjoyed our chats and the cultural exchange—it was such a lovely way to practice my English and learn more about his life back home. He was such a friendly and easy-going guest. ​I hope he has a fantastic time exploring the rest of Brazil. Since you're heading to Manaus next, make sure you won't miss the 'Meeting of the Waters' (Encontro das Águas)—it’s a mind-blowing sight where the two rivers run side by side without mixing. ​Safe travels for the rest of your journey, and I really hope our paths cross again. I'll definitely give you a shout when I finally make it to London again so we can catch up in your neck of the woods!

Henry and Beth are a lovely young couple who could do anything I asked of them. The main job was hedge cutting and it was done beautifully. They work as a team and that way accomplish tasks efficiently and well. I enjoyed their company both when working outdoors and when relaxing indoors. They are the epitome of what Workaway is about. Keep up the good work, my friends.

What Aaron and his team do here for the dogs is beyond incredible. It was inspiring to witness everyone's selfless service, working towards providing these dogs with the loving care that they ultimately deserve. You can tell that everyone here is passionate about their work, and they are willing to make sacrifices to go beyond the needs of the dogs. I am grateful to have been able to help out for a short while and for all that I learned. The dogs here are so healthy and happy and their energy will certainly bring a bit of magic into anyone's life who so chooses to help them out.

Kexin (Judia) stayed with us in the middle of September, our busy season with the harvest. The agreement with her was that she would make meals and look after the house and do some daily animal chores, while I was out of the house operating harvest equipment. Judia made many delicious meals and did a great job keeping the house running! Unfortunately she developed some allergies and illness and had to return home earlier than planned. She is welcome to come back anytime to complete her visit and support us again in the house! It was interesting to talk with her and share life experiences.

These two wonderful weeks in the little paradise of Mauro and Jose went way too fast ! The Life and people in Meliquina are amazing, you can do many things around : swim in the lake or the river, hike, go to local concerts… The atmosphere between the volunteers was great and it was a pleasure to play with the kids, Valen and Salvi, who are great spanish teachers ! I would 100% recommend this workaway ! One great memory I will keep in mind is the new year diner we had all together with the family, everyone cooked a dish from his country ! If you are confortable with living with a lot of people in a closed space, and with washing a good amount of dishes, then the time you will have there will be as fabulous as the stars you can observe during the night.
