  Hello traveller! 🌺 🌸🌻🌼
  We (Maren (47), Michiel (33), Alma (10) and Swati (6)) are living on a little 1 hectare finca approx. 600 m above the sea level 🌊(different clima than on the coast, more rain 🌧️). The finca lies between a canyon and a little settlement. The finca is structured on 4 levels / little terraces, and your "peace-area" 🕉️ is on the last one, under a pear-tree🍐🌳. We have 13 animals (7 chickens 🐔 and a cock 🐓 (they will move in the nearby future to Finca Ho'holaulea), 2 dogs 🐶 and 3 cats 🐱), 25 fruit trees (7 big ones) and a lot of peace and silence to come down from civilization stress.

  Ours is a peaceful place of natural beauty. Our commitment is to offer you the opportunity to simply be yourself and find inner peace, far away from pandemics, civilization stress, contamination, hurrying up, being under pressure ..
  In the most simple conditions you can go back to yourself and see once more what is really important in (your) life, stepping out from a system that destroys itself and the future of our planet, that keeps people passive, hypnotized and full of fears in their comfortable entertained lives, that lack of spontaneity, expression and vividness.
  On our place you can meditate surrounded by the sound of wind, birds, the call from a donkey, the shout of some struggling cats, dogs etc. from a distance..
  Our animals will make you company, and you could practice some German / Spanish / Dutch when interested, and also learn something about mentally retarded children.
  In the free time you have the possibility to go hiking, climbing (we are living nearby a climbing area) ⛰️🧗, cycling 🚲, surfing 🏄, kitesurfing, windsurfing, paragliding, diving, go to the beach 🏖️ and explore the beautiful island of Tenerife.
  Also you can play guitar 🎸 and sing 🎶 around the camp fire 🔥 with us (not in the heat season because of forest fires) ..

  Arbeit

  The day you arrive, the first that we do together is preparing the "camp", your living place. We are not constantly hosting workawayers, so the tent has to be put, the bed, some cleaning done etc.
  
  Michiel will mainly work with you together on everything that has to be done (can be building with wood, painting, working with cement, fixing things etc.). A main task is also always to maintain and improve the workaway-terrace.
  
  A part from that, we need also help
  - cleaning the chicken coop 🐔
  - picking dog poo 💩
  - feeding animals 🐱🐶
  - remove leaves🍁 and weed 🌱
  - sweeping the areas 🧹
  - removing cactus / prickly pear🌵
  - harvesting fruits 🍋🥑🫒🫐
  
  No experience needed. DIY skills always appreciated.
  
  We frequently also go to the coast/beach to clean from rubbish where you join if you want.
  
  We search for persons with a HELPING ATTITUDE, proactivity, communication skills, responsible, aware and respectful behaviour and neatly habits.
  
  We also expect some kind interaction with the children and sensibility with disability (we have 2 little children, one with Down Syndrome).
  Be aware of the fact that the children are also a part of the whole and can come to your place.

  I (Maren) am always happy to speak several languages to keep my mind flexible and Michiel is interested in learning Spanish.

  Unterkunft

  A simple, natural place equipped only with the most essential.
  On the helpers terrace there is no electricity (only a little light 💡with a solar cell for the night). A plug to charge can be found in the main house.
  The helper lives in a big tent 🏕️ situated on the last, lowest terrace under a pear-tree 🍐🌳, next to the chicken house (WARNING: kikiriki in the morning🐓) in the simplest conditions.
  That means using a compostable toilet, a garden shower 🚿 and cooking his own food on a outdoor kitchen.
  The Workawayer does his autonom life, but we can share also [family] time and some meal if it is appreciated.
  
  FOOD:
  The helper receives the basic food (rice, pasta, coffee / tea, oat flakes, flour) and can take vegetables 🍅/ fruits 🍋 and aromatic herbs 🌱 from the garden
  (f. ex. green beans, swiss chard, spinach, cabbage, tomatoes, rucola, depends what we have planted at that moment) and some eggs 🥚 from our chicken.
  There is the possibility to eat lunch together for a contribution of 3 €.
  There is also a little cooling box available to put perishable food.

  The helper lives in a autonom way without any comfort, connecting with nature. We can share moments together in family when it's fitting, but it's not a community life.
  Musicians are always double welcome. 😁🪘🎻🎤🎷🪗🎶
  
  The Finca is a bit bad connected with public transport. It is possible to get somewhere else, but it takes time.
  
  We are ONLY INTERESTED in people who really wants to help, with a helping attitude and not only searching a place to stay and considering work as a unavoidable evil.
  It is also very important a kind treatment of the children, and being conscious of the fact that especially our child with Down syndrome can sometimes invade your space and that your reactions than are FRIENDLY.
  
  Working schedule:
  5 days a week, 3 hours / day.
  
  Our place is 10 min. walking from a bus stop (returning uphill, we are living on the top of a hill).
  
  THE BUS IS NOT COMING FREQUENTLY AND DOESN'T GO DIRECTLY TO THE COAST.
  
  10 min. walking to a little bar/restaurant and mini supermarket.
  30 min. walking to the next little town with a bank, a post office, a bar, a supermarket.
  15 min. by car to the Ocean.
  15 min. by car you find a Climbing Area.
  25 min. by car there is the key point for world champion windsurfers and kite-surfers (El Médano).
  
  We are producing very nice handcrafted Kombucha, made with 💗, medlar wine and vinegar.

  The Internet connection has to provide the workawayer by his own to work online. But we had digital nomads yet and it worked well.
