  **IMPORTANT** Please, keep in mind that my mom doesn’t speak English at all so we’d prefer to host Workawayers that have some knowledge of Spanish or French (so even when I won’t be around, you will be able to communicate with her).
  
  [ENG] Hello Workawayers! We are a Swiss-Bolivian family (me, Ghislaine [Gigi], my mom Mireya, our dog Serena, the chickens, the ducks and the sheep) and we are looking for nature lovers to help us in our country house in Colcapirhua, Bolivia. Our house, which was built by my dad, is the first bioclimatic house built in Bolivia: during cold season it keeps the heat inside while during warm season it is cool. In addition, we have solar panels that allow us to always have hot water and we make compost, which we then use to fertilize our plants. My mom and I would like to make our house even more self-sustainable and, for this, we need willing and nature-loving people to help us take care of the garden and build corrals for the animals! DEPENDING ON THE SEASON, HELP MAY CHANGE.
  
  We can accommodate 3 Workawayers at once: on the ground floor of our house we have two rooms (double and single) and a bathroom. The kitchen is shared and you are welcome to use it when you want (but you will have to clean up after yourself).
  
  *** IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that we live in a country house (we even have an inside garden!) so it's possible that you will find insects in your room or in the shared areas of the house. Also, we have a big dog that lives inside the house. She is allowed in every single room of the house (kitchen and dining room included!!!) and she loves to sleep on beds (so, if you don’t close your bedroom door is possible that you’ll find her sleeping on your bed). ***
  
  In exchange for your help, besides hosting you in the apartment, we will provide two meals (breakfast and lunch) during helping days and weekends (If you do not travel). In my house we usually do not have dinner (we just have some hot tea with bread/cookies) but If you want to have a "proper" dinner, you are free and welcome to cook it for yourself! If you're a vegetarian, don't worry: I am too! In general, my mom and I try to eat what our garden offers and avoid sugary and ultra-processed foods.

Somos una familia suizo-boliviana (yo, Ghislaine [Gigi], mi mamá Mireya, nuestra perrita Serena, las gallinas, los patos y las ovejas) y estamos buscando amantes de la naturaleza para ayudarnos en nuestra casa de campo en Colcapirhua, Bolivia. Nuestra casa, que fue construida por mi papá, es la primera casa bioclimática construida en Bolivia: durante la temporada de frío mantiene el calor en el interior mientras que durante la temporada de calor es fresca. Además, tenemos paneles solares que nos permiten tener siempre agua caliente y hacemos compost, que luego utilizamos para abonar nuestras plantas. A mi mamá y a mí nos gustaría hacer nuestra casa aún más autosostenible y, para ello, necesitamos personas comprometidas y amantes de la naturaleza que nos ayuden a cuidar el jardín y a construir corrales para los animales. DEPENDIENDO DE LA TEMPORADA, LAS TAREAS PUEDEN CAMBIAR.
  
  Podemos alojar a 3 Workawayers a la vez: en la planta baja de nuestra casa tenemos dos habitaciones (doble y single) y un baño. La cocina es compartida y puedes usarla cuando quieras (pero tendrás que limpiar después de utilizarla).
  
  *** IMPORTANTE: Toma en cuenta que vivimos en una casa de campo (incluso tenemos un jardín interior!) por lo que es posible que encuentres insectos en tu habitación o en las zonas compartidas de la casa. Además, tenemos una perrita grande que vive dentro de la casa. Ella tiene permitido estar en todas las habitaciones de la casa (también en la cocina y en el comedor!) y ama dormir en las camas de los humanos (así que, si no cierras la puerta de tu habitación, es posible que la encuentres descansando en tu cama). ***
  
  A cambio de tu ayuda, además de alojarte en el departamento, te proporcionaremos dos comidas (desayuno y almuerzo) durante los días de trabajo y los fines de semana (si no viajas). En mi casa no estamos acostumbradas a cenar (sólo tomamos un té caliente con pan/galletas) pero si quieres cenar ¡eres libre de cocinar! Si eres vegetariano, no te preocupes: ¡yo también lo soy! En general, mi mamá y yo intentamos comer lo que nos ofrece nuestro jardín y evitar los alimentos con mucha azúcar y ultraprocesados.

  [ENG] We are a Swiss-Bolivian family and we speak French and Spanish. In our house, you'll be able to practice both languages. Also, my mom can teach you about the different Bolivian plants and their traditional uses. During your free time, you are welcome to join me and my friends: we like to go hiking, rock-climbing, swimming in the nearby natural pools and cooking in the wood-fired oven in the garden.
  
  [ESP] Somos una familia suizo-boliviana y hablamos francés y español. En nuestra casa podrás practicar ambos idiomas. Además, mi mamá puede enseñarte sobre las diferentes plantas bolivianas y sus usos tradicionales. Durante tu tiempo libre, eres bienvenido/a a unirte a mí y a mis amigos: nos gusta salir a pasear en las montañas, escalar en roca, nadar en las pozas naturales y cocinar en el horno a leña en el jardín.

  [ENG] In Bolivia, the year is divided into two seasons: the rainy and warm season (from September to the beginning of March) and the dry and cold season (from March to August). The coldest months of the year are June, July and August (but do not worry, even If in Bolivia we do not have house heating systems, we do have a fireplace in the house and we love to light it up and relax in front of it when it is cold outside!). Therefore, depending on the season, duties may change.
  
  1. Gardening (taking care of the garden by cutting the grass, watering the plants, picking fruits and vegetables, pulling weeds, etc.)
  2. Construction (building corrals for animals and fixing the existing buildings if necessary)
  3. Taking care of the house (cooking, cleaning your apartment, helping to wash the dishes, If you use the kitchen clean up after yourself)
  
  Helping hours may change but you will never be asked to help more than five hours a day. All weekends will be off.
  
  
  [ESP] En Bolivia, el año se divide en dos temporadas: la temporada de lluvias y de calor (desde septiembre hasta comienzo de marzo) y la temporada seca y de frío (desde marzo hasta agosto). Los meses más fríos del año son junio, julio y agosto (pero no te preocupes, aunque en Bolivia no tenemos sistemas de calefacción doméstica, en la casa tenemos una chimenea y nos encanta encenderla y relajarnos al frente del fuego cuando hace frío!). Por lo tanto, dependiendo de la temporada, las tareas pueden cambiar.
  
  1. Jardinería (cuidar el jardín cortando el pasto, regando las plantas, recogiendo frutas y verduras, arrancando las malas hierbas, etc.)
  2. Construcción (construir corrales para los animales y arreglar las construcciones existentes si es necesario)
  3. Cuidar la casa (cocinar, limpiar tu departamento, ayudar a limpiar los platos, si usas la cocina limpiar luego que terminaste de usarla)
  
  Las horas de ayuda pueden variar pero nunca se pedirá ayudar más de cinco horas al día. Tendrás todos los fin de semana libres.

  • INTERNET: In the house we have Internet and you are free to use it whenever and as long you want.
  • LAUNDRY: We have a washing machine in the house and you can use it for free (we just ask you to buy your own laundry detergents).
  • PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FROM OUR HOUSE TO COCHABAMBA (CITY CENTER) AND VICEVERSA:
  - Bus "E" (it stops just outside our front door and it takes around 40 minutes to get to the center of Cochabamba. It costs 2 BOB one way [around EUR€ 0,25]. Keep in mind that it operates from 5 a.m. to 8.30 p.m.)
  - Taxi (you can call the taxi from the house and it is faster comparing to the bus but also more expensive [25/30 BOB; around EUR€ 3,50/4 one way]).
  
  *** IMPORTANT: If you are afraid of dogs or you don’t really like them, please take note that WE HAVE A BIG DOG named Serena. She is allowed in every single room of the house (kitchen and dining room included!!!) and she loves to sleep on beds (so, if you don’t close your bedroom door is possible that you’ll find her sleeping on your bed). ***

  • INTERNET: En la casa tenemos Internet y eres libre de usarlo cuando quieras y el tiempo que quieras.
  • LAVANDERÍA: En la casa tenemos una lavadora que puedes utilizar gratuitamente (sólo te pedimos que compres tus propios detergentes de ropa).
  • TRANSPORTE PÚBLICO DESDE NUESTRA CASA HASTA COCHABAMBA (CENTRO DE LA CIUDAD) Y VICEVERSA:
  - Autobús "E" (para justo en la puerta de nuestra casa y tarda unos 40 minutos en llegar al centro de Cochabamba. Cuesta 2 BOB por trata [alrededor de EUR€ 0,25]. Toma en cuenta que funciona desde las 5 de la mañana hasta las 8.30 de la noche).
  - Taxi (puedes llamar al taxi desde la casa y es más rápido comparado con el autobús pero también más caro [25/30 BOB; alrededor de EUR€ 3,50/4 por trata).
