We had a great time hosting Anna and Hamish! They were incredibly helpful across the board, eagerly pitching in with both household chores and farm work. Beyond being great workers, they were just lovely people to have around the place. Tessa and Nerone adored them, too!! We shared some wonderful conversations over meals, chatting about everything from Brexit to life back in New Zealand. They are easygoing, reliable, and excellent company. Any host would be lucky to have them!

Sakura was a lovely addition to our home during her stay. While she is naturally quiet and independent, she is also good fun to be around and she tackled every task with a positive attitude.She loved cuddling our dogs and they adored her right back! Sakura was always deeply respectful of our space and routine. We would gladly host her again and highly recommend her to any future Workaway hosts!

I had an amazing 8 days with Elaine and her two dogs. Elaine is highly conversational, with lots of insights to offer and a great sense of humour. We did lots of interesting tasks, some that I hadn't done before but wasn't much of a challenge to learn. I helped set up three trellises for berries and planted two trees. We took apart and reassembled a malfunctionung waterpump, lined a gutter with a wire mesh, fixed a leak, went wild willow harvesting, and made the lovely big glasshouse tidy and settled for winter, plus other little sidequests. I particularly enjoyed being able to problem-solve alongside Elaine and she readily listened to suggestions and even implemented a couple that I learned in my farm days. Castlemaine Digging's National park is delightful to walk through and I really enjoyed Elaine's ecological and historical knowledge of the surrounding area. There's a lichenized fungi called a Yellow Navel! And a sticky tongued Sundew plant that is carnivorous! Staying in the treehouse was a very enjoyable experience. Most meals are self catered so it might not be ideal for someone who doesn't want to or is not confident in cooking. I enjoyed so many garden greens, eggs from the chooks, lamb from her sheep and tamarillos from the very productive tree in her glasshouse and it was easy to stock up on anything else that was needed. A real gem of a place to volunteer!

My experience at Claire's and Michiel's was such a unique one. It was my first workaway ever and I really didn't know what to expect. The second I got there I felt so welcomed by the family. Soon this place became a real safe space and I had a wonderful time helping on the project and spending free time with the family and the other workawayers. When it came to the jobs Michiel offered a variety of different task we could choose ourselves. He explained every task really well and we could always ask again and again if we didn't understand. At lunch or at the dinner table was always so much going on. Claire cooks really wonderful food and often we had long meals and a lot of fun chatting and playing games after. On the weekends we often spend time going for a walk, on a bike ride or to the ocean. The nature surrounding the place is just beautiful! Overall I can recommend going to Claire's and Michiel's place 100%. I felt so welcomed there and also being with so many other workawayers from different countries was so so cool! I would totally come back!

Miriam is so respectful, so funny, so kind and so smart. Imagine a person that just feels like a warm hug - that’s her. And not like a cliché, actually she just always knows what’s needed on a deeper level. -She’s super clued in emotionally and holds herself like a wise woman, super aware of who she’s is, her values and her and others’ needs. That makes it SO easy to host her cause you never have to second guess if she needs something or if a task is suitable, she’ll tell you straight (in a super loving way). Because of this (and her amazing personality) we quickly became close friends and it was a joy having her in the house. I know we’ll meet Miriam again and stay in touch. Thank you for your loving contribution Miriam 🙏❤️

Due to various circumstances beyond our - and Kevin's - control, Kevin and Melissa did different jobs here from what we had originally intended. Kevin proved to be most adaptable, tackling tough manual work and help with planning/strategy with equal aplomb! Melissa was highly efficient in housekeeping and we miss her attention to detail already! They were both courteous and friendly with our staff. Further to this, Kevin was extremely helpful in expanding our presence in the environmental preservation/improvement sphere by getting us to join "Restor". I can highly recommend Kevin and Melissa to any eco friendly hosts.

Kate and Kai were excellent workawayers who we were extremely grateful to have come to help us out in our home and garden. They both had great personalities brought a special energy to our family life. I wish them all the best on their forward journey and would highly recommend them as a workaway couple to any host.

My time at the Hostel was a wonderful experience, and I’m very grateful for it. Reda and Leila are incredibly kind, welcoming, and warm-hearted hosts who made me feel like part of the family from day one. My tasks were mainly preparing breakfast in the morning and serving drinks in the evening. Everything was well organized, fair, and clearly communicated. What I appreciated most was the respectful and thoughtful communication, they always treated me with kindness, appreciation, and genuine respect. The hostel has such a warm and friendly atmosphere, and you can feel how much love Reda, Leila and the team put into this place. Their hospitality and the small everyday moments made this experience very special. I highly recommend staying here as a Volunteer. Thank you, Reda, Leila, Soufiane, Otmane, Fati and Ouiame for making this such a beautiful experience. 💛

Oliver stayed my two farm .One is sheep farm at beginning .There he was helping sheep herding help daily routing.I think it was difficult at beginning but it takes week to get learn . But he was one of best volunteer. Other farm was cow farm experience was unique... Thank you Oliver

What an amazing time we had with Amy! Amy is incredibly open, candid and heartful. It took her literally no time to blend in in our community and her curiosity and tenderness touched the heart of whoever managed to spend longer time with her. She joined us in all the possible outings in the nearby cities and brought along so much enthusiasm, that beautifully added up to the joyous atmosphere of the excursions. Amy is very dutiful, warm and dedicated and just loves to get to know people and take part to any kind of activity or community program. She also loves to share her heart and her different life experiences, which are prolific and at the same time profound. It was an enriching exchange to have her here and we are longing very much for her next visit. You are most welcome dear Amy, see you soon! :)

Ronja was an excellent volunteer. She was hardworking, respectful, and easy to talk to. She brought a positive vibe to the house and to the other volunteers. It was a wonderful stay. A welcoming family, with whom we shared insights and experiences. I recommend spending a few weeks with this wonderful family if you want to fully experience country life.

Eva brought such a wonderful presence to our place and everybody in our little corner of the village loved her from day one. Everything was easy and flew into place naturally as if she was meant to be here all along. Basti loved especially the bike rides and the evening playtime but also had a good model for healthy boundaries (which she protested at first but serve her well on the long run :D) Thanks a mill Eva for your time at our place, for all the help, the best pancakes ever and inspiring conversations we had. You are always warmly welcome to visit us again and keep in touch. hugs

Elspeth volunteered at our Kampot school, where she focused on teaching children and youth. She is a responsible and friendly volunteer who connects well with her students. One of her main strengths is her adaptability. She is very flexible in her daily tasks and adjusts very well to new environments and changing situations. She is consistently good with the kids and reliable in her work. I recommend Elspeth for future volunteer roles.

Alexander volunteered at our Kampot school, teaching children and youth. He is kind, friendly, and very good with the kids. He built close connections with the community members during his time here. He handles challenges maturely; if issues arise, he addresses them privately and directly rather than making a problem out of them. He also provided solid support with video making. I recommend Alexander for future volunteer roles.

Jasmina and Emilie volunteered at our Kampot school, teaching children and youth. Both of them are kind, friendly, and very flexible volunteers who work well with the kids. A notable strength for both is how easily they mix with everyone in the school environment, including other volunteers, local staff, and students. They each also brought specific skills to the team. Jasmina provided good support with our video making. Emilie was very helpful in assisting our trainees and stepping in for practical daily tasks, such as cooking and cutting firewood. They both built solid relationships within our community. We highly recommend Jasmina and Emilie for future volunteer roles.

Zak volunteered at our Kampot school, teaching children and youth. He is a responsible and punctual volunteer. He shows strong commitment to his work and does not give up easily. He is approachable, and the children like him as a teacher. We recommend Zak for roles involving teaching and working with youth.

Lovisa was a wonderful volunteer and a pleasure to have as part of our team. She was responsible, reliable, and always completed her tasks with dedication and care. Beyond fulfilling her responsibilities, she was proactive, eager to help, and consistently brought a positive attitude to everything she did. I even brought Lovisa to a local wedding, and she blended in wonderfully with the community. She was friendly, respectful, and made everyone feel comfortable. She is open-minded, patient, and very easy to work with. I highly recommend Lovisa to any host and would be happy to welcome her back anytime.
