  We are a retired couple living in our private home close to Tallow beach in the beautiful town of Byron Bay.
  Byron Bay is so well known it needs no introduction.. We live in a quiet part of the town. There is a national park at the end of our street, and a 200 meter walk across this long and narrow park leads to our quiet beach. The park is alive with birds and birdsong, and wallabies are commonly seen in the early morning and at dusk. Close by is Tallow Creek, which opens and closes sporadically to the ocean, with an sizeable sea bird population which often nests there. The water of Tallow Creek is coloured by taking from the tea tree . The area around the creek opening is idyllic for picnicking, sunbathing, and the waters of the creek for paddling, soaking and swimming.
  
  Our house has a wild tropical garden featuring numerous palms and other natives, which attract lots of bird life.

  We have occasional meals together, which is a great way of connecting.
  
  Byron bay township is 15 minutes walk away, and most visitors to the town easily connect with other visitors and locals of their own age and interests
  
  We can share gardening and home maintenance skills with the workawayers.

  We request assistance with gardening and cleaning, some general maintenance, painting , assistance with rubbish removal, and some heavier gardening including digging out old garden beds.
  Guidance and advice with tools will be provided as will be assistance depending on the task

  Unterkunft

  Accommodation provided is a private and self contained 1 bedroom apartment underneath the main house, with fully appointed kitchen, TV , WIFI, separate laundry with washing machine , bathroom with separate shower and toilet, and outdoor paved area with barbecue. There is a queen bed in the bedroom and a single bed if needed in the lounge dining room.
  Some photos provided are of the accommodation.
  
  If you prefer only 2 hours of work daily, no food will be provided.
  If you prefer food to be provided for 4 hours of work daily, we expect you to prepare the food yourselves.
  
  There is a separate private entrance.

  The bustling and interesting town centre of Byron Bay is 15 minutes walk away or 25 minutes walk via Tallow beach.
  Tallow beach and creek are idyllic for walking, birdwatching and swimming in the creek or in the ocean with careful attention to the prevailing conditions.
  Surfers and windsurfers frequent the beach when the conditions are favourable
  There are numerous activities advertised in the town.
  No smoking inside please and quiet after 9 pm.
