Vom Host für Workawayer (Ivette)
We were happy to host Ivette in Berlin from August to December 2020. And we were very sad to let her go. We have two kids they were 3 and 6 at that time. Both of them loved Ivette. and still remember her! She easily found a common language with them. and not only with them but with us too. It is a pleasure to have Ivette around. She is kind and
… read more caring. She traveled the world, she is well-read and a great story-teller, she is an active listener and a healthy eater. Kids were having happy smoothies every day when Ivette was with us! She respects the schedules and the house rules. What was also great about Ivette - you don't need to remind her every time to do this or that. We had a list of tasks and she was on top of them without any reminders.
We are staying in touch for three years already and it is definitely a sign that we would be happy to recommend her.

Dear Olga Yuri and kids,
Where do I begin, my stay at your home was very lovely, it really felt like I was staying with family because both of you are so kindhearted and accommodating. Olga is very organized, calm, and kind (just to name a few) and Yuri is cool, caring, and super smart (they both are). Misha will teach you all about cars and
… read more trains at the moment (He is a kind, smart, and curious kid). Leah is a sweet girl who enjoys dancing, ballet, yoga and loves to read books (she’s super creative and independent). Misha and Leah are quick to learn the routine when it comes to preparing for school (some days they do prefer mom or dad to take them to school and that's perfectly normal and understandable). Taking them to school and other after-school activities by bike was my favorite mode of transporting Misha and Leah (they are both really good at biking). Housekeeping was very easy and consisted of very light housework such as doing laundry sometimes, loading the dishwasher, vacuuming, among other light cleaning duties. All in all, It’s easy to keep up with duties and still have plenty of time to explore the city. The whole family is trilingual (English, German and Russian) so I got to learn some words both in German and Russian. During my 3 and a half month stay, I got to explore so many cool places despite the lockdown, such as parks, outdoor events, connecting with new people from the city, the forest (mushroom hunting), hikes, and city life while biking all around. With Yuri and Olga, you will have a bike to travel conveniently all around the city plus public transportation is about a 3-minute walk from their place. Charlottenburg is such a beautiful area to live in. For example, their place is nearby a palace, forest, and some lakes. I often got to enjoy the outdoors with them, they can tell you all about the city and give you great recommendations on what to visit. They were so kind to get me an annual pass for the museums which I took advantage of and learned so much about the history and art of Berlin during my visits. Dinner time was one of my favorite times of the day as we often teamed up and cooked delicious meals together and spent quality family time talking about our day. Yuri and Olga are great cooks, you will surely enjoy a variety of hearty and healthy dishes. Also, they provide you with your own paid sim card for your mobile phone and even a laptop in your room, if needed, if you are interested in taking German courses from home or at a language school (if the situation allows). Overall, I’m grateful for the unique opportunity to explore Berlin while living with Yuri, Olga, and the kids. They made my experience more lovely by welcoming me into their home, teaching me so much, and enjoying delicious food with them and their friends. I will forever think of you all whenever I eat a greek salad (I never got tired of it, It’s simply delicious). We are like family now and I’m so thankful to know and stay connected with you all from now on. Thank you so much family for your trust, guidance, kindness, and friendship.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

I was immediately welcomed to the family when I first arrived. Olga is very kind, communicative, and willing to help with anything. The children are both wonderful. Michael (Misha) at 8 years old is wicked smart and knows the entire train system by heart. He also loves airplanes, geography, and world history. I learned a lot from him! He also took

Leah (5) can be a little shy at first but shes a little jokester once she opens up and she loves ballet, drawing, and puzzles. Theres quite a few tasks but they do not all have to be done every day. I did the laundry once a week and swept up whenever needed. I would also do the dishes and cleanup the kitchen everyday. Your main job will be picking up and dropping off the children everyday. One thing to note: there is no set daily routine because things really change day by day. For example, the time you leave each morning depends on the mode of transportation (bike or ubahn) and the child you are taking. The time you pick up each day depends on those same factors and you often pick up both children which does take longer. I only mention this because it does take some getting used to if you are someone who prefers a set routine. As for the accommodations, I had my own room and mostly my own bathroom. I was the only one who showered or got ready in that bathroom but of course anyone could use the toilet. I was provided a sim card and a transportation ticket and I was able to borrow various items when I needed them (picnic blanket for the lake, towel when I took weekend trips and stayed in hostels, etc). Overall it was a good stay and I know I could ask Olga for anything if I go back to Berlin. :)Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.
