  We are Francis and Helen, originally from the UK, we took on this rambling Masia & Finca over 24 years ago in order to find a gentler more peaceful, friendly and cultural way of life. Our home is definitely for country lovers only!
  
  It is a heritage Masia where many films set in idyllic settings have been made.
  
  The latest is the film "Brava" by Roser Aguilar about a single women seeking a refuge in "an idyllic rural retreat" here after being mugged in Barcelona. So , of course they made it here! We have been featured three times on Workaway due to our high levels positive feedback from volunteers.... we have had the highest numbers of 100% positive feedback in ​Spain and ​Portugal...​We have this feedback because we don´t exploit our people and we try to help them have a great stay.
  We want to keep our p​erfect record of 100% feedback, for this reason​ we like to encourage volunteers to ask as many questions as they like, and we always go into details ​and any questions we have with volunteers before agreeing and arranging a hosting..... check out our reviews!
  
  We are just 20 mins from the Surrealism and other Art Museums around Figueres and 30 mins from the Bay of Roses, the Pyrenees, Medieval Girona, Banyoles Olympic Lake and France. Barcelona is 55 mins by train.
  
  Join us! If you have transport, you could actually go skiing in the morning and sunbathe the afternoon on the beach!. Our winters are mild and usually sunny, we're surrounded by woods and fields, so it is very sheltered, with protected wildlife, With views of majestic snow capped mountains and unpolluted skies - wonderful for stargazing!
  
  You can also experience the natural beauty of place and its surroundings on your doorstep without transport .There are buses and trains nearby. So you can visit the Costa Brava, Medieval Girona, France and Barcelona. But to really experience our region and its attractions personal transport is better. If you have a camper van, we can give you a spacious parking space and a nearby private bathroom.
  
  We have 7500m2 of gardens for you to unwind in or to, swim, play tennis or ping pong, meditate or talk to the animals in! Alternatively, there are paths and trails through forests, hills and fields right on your doorstep.
  
  ABOUT YOUR STAY:
  ​* We always start with an initial commitment to an agreed 1-2 weeks stay. ​We can​ offer a longer term​ stays when we know how viable the project would be...this can depend on so many factors that we cannot predict or control​ initially.
  * Sorry that we cannot not ​provide meals although we might have socials with refreshments occasionally.​ For cooking and shopping we can pay you ​ 37 euros for one person, and 50 for two persons per week​ of 25 hours​ work ( flexi time possible) At times we can also offer zero pay stays for only 12 hours week per person per week
  * sometimes there may​ be jobs that might be part ​of a volunteer´s professional experience & skills that would be of greater value to us​. If so, these ​could be discussed and​ pay negotiated in the initial 2 weeks. ) Please note that, at the moment there may not be other Work Awayers to socialise with, due work in progress enlarging our Workaway accommodation
  
  ​TASKS
  ​*We are not suggesting that you ​actually do all of the list of the following jobs​!!!
  But to enable us to plan flexibly could you please tell us if there are any of the following jobs that you con do and have experience in?
  
  PROPERTY
  ​*Paint internal walls
  * painting ground level exterior walls and woodwork​ (with water based products only)
  ​* cleaning patios
  ​* ​Pool Cleaning with supervision
  * Fill wall and floor cracks with supervision
  ​* Clear out one or two caravans​ and wash them on the outside​
  *Help clear out rooms, maybe small cleaning jobs.
  * move furniture with help if needed
  ​*Clearing out roof gutters​ on ground floor only​ with step ladder?
  * wood and carpentry repairs,
  *small maintenance tasks, e.g. stapling Fly screens, sanding sticking doors or windows, small repairs to fences, painting, changing door handles, clearing up, Could be 2 friends or a couple
  
  ​GARDENS
  ​* lopping ​(4cm max) tree​ branches with ​lopping shears or bow saw,
  ​* Help with repairing/ replacing some fence posts and fences
  ​*cutting back overgrown bushes & Hedges with shears and lopping shears,
  ​* planting​ one or two plants or trees,
  ​*weeding and clearing garden beds?
  ​* general cleaning up cluttered ​garden areas​,collect and dispose of weeds, cuttings
  ​* strimmer jobs & mowing
  * planting a couple of trees , hard landscaping etc
  
  PC
  Occasionally, we may need help with I.T. sorting out PC and Phone, apps and software etc but not regularlt...(e.g. music production software)

  We enjoy visitors from all over the world and also Workawayers from far and wide from Finland to Hawaii and New Zealand and from Patagonia, Peru to Iceland....we have much experience in facilitating a warm and friendly atmosphere and we do everything we possibly can to help Workawayers access the myriad of cultural and natural attractions all around us.
  Of course nature walks, cycling and hiking are right on your doorstep here. Our area is rich in fiestas, arts and holistic events going on here we do everything we can to involve Workawayers and to give them real cultural interchange....
  Recently, there has been a huge influx of American Citizens looking for higher quality of life, clean air, mountains and sea and a world leading culture, with countless Art galleries, Concerts, Street Events, etc..See our reviews!!

  ****** Strong willing people with experience of helping unsupervised . We offer two help models either for only 12 hours per week or for 25 hours per week. We are usually very flexible e.g. for days off making up the time later.

  Unterkunft

  We have a small rustic house, good for two people.It is light and sunny with a kitchen, woodstove, and dishwasher, with outside bathroom. If not, we also have a caravan. Both with separate shower/bathroom with hot and cold running water. We provide you with money or food to cook yourself.
  
  We have great facilities - animals, tennis, outdoor swimming pool, boules, a large and light filled room next to the pool which is great for yoga, meditation and just chilling when you want a change from being in the open air. Free laundry facilities. 20 min walk to a local village/bus, and we can give you lifts to the nearest town, Figueres which has good public transport links to Girona, Barcelona, France, the coast and inland towns in the Pyrenees.

  Our area is rich in culture and visitor attractions. We are just 15 mins from Surrealism centre Figueres and 30 mins from the Bay of Roses, the Pyrenees, Medieval Girona, Banyoles Olympic Lake and France.
  
  Approx 55 mins to Barcelona by train. Our winters are mild and sunny, we're surrounded by woods and fields, so it is very sheltered, with incredible wildlife and unpolluted skies - wonderful for stargazing.
  
  Set in extensive gardens with Romansque Medieval church, swimming pool, tennis, table tennis, boules, BBQ, hammocks, wifi and club house. Surrounded by woods and hills, near the Pyrenees yet close to mediterranean beaches and bays.
  
  Also the walks and ski stations of the Pyrenees. There are horses, goats, dogs, cats and a pig. It is an environment rich in flora & fauna and natural beauty. You may meet some amazing people here - visitors/friends from Barcelona and also all over the world.
  
  However, there are also quiet times too and always space to find your own peace & quiet. Our place is known for its peace & tranquility.
  
  We are exclusively a Workawayer Exchange programme and we support all Workaway aims, objectives and guidelines.

  Wifi is avaiable fron the Workaway Small house. Quality varies sometimes according to the make (cost?) of your phone. There is a also a Wifi workstation in out big Pool House. Mobile is via sweet spots and the ability of your mobile. But is it always OK just outside the garden.

  Large private camper van secure area and one roomed vols Studio with outside bathroom available. Leisure facilities Pool, Tennis, Boules, Animal corner,. On your doorstep; footpaths over hills, rivers, mountains , fields and meadows. A national mountain bike route with horse riding and bike hire locally. Other mountain sports.

  Yes, well behaved discussed in advance. dogs must be on lead within the finca because there are always loose cats around.
