Hi! My name is Luca and I’m from Italy. I work as a veterinary virology researcher at university, so science is an important part of my life. My work taught me discipline, patience and how to work hard even under pressure, but also how rewarding it is to achieve meaningful results through dedication and teamwork. Outside of work, I really enjoy meeting new people and discovering different cultures and ways of living. I’m an easygoing and adaptable person: I like both deep conversations and simple moments like watching a sunset, sharing a beer on the beach or exploring a new city without too many plans. I also spent many years in scouting, first as a scout and later as a scout chief. This experience helped me grow a lot as a person: it taught me responsibility, teamwork, leadership and how to take care of others while always keeping a positive and open-minded attitude. Through scouting I learned to adapt to different situations, live closely with nature and appreciate simple things and genuine human connections. I love animals, nature and authentic experiences that allow me to connect with local people instead of just being a tourist. I’m a very curious person and I always try to learn something from every experience. I believe traveling is one of the best ways to grow, step out of your comfort zone and see life from different perspectives. Even if I’m used to working in a laboratory environment, I enjoy practical activities too and I’m always willing to help, learn quickly and adapt to different situations. I appreciate kindness, honesty and people who share positive energy. Through Workaway I hope to meet inspiring people, improve my English, exchange cultures and create real memories together — not just visit places. Looking forward to meeting you!
