    Description

This is a personal home evolving into a unique guesthouse and retreat for musicians, set in beautiful nature just 40 minutes outside Lisbon. The project is featured on Workaway’s Portugal page and has consistently received top-rated reviews.

We welcome Workawayers during the first and last week of each month.

The concept revolves around flow state, creativity, and inspiration—but ultimately, it’s about having fun. Expect stunning sunsets over the valley, a cosy home with underfloor heating powered by solar energy, and two dedicated music rooms: one large jam space and another cosy basement music room. There’s a piano, guitars, bass, two drum kits, and a studio-quality sound system that brings everything to life. We also have ten no-till garden beds growing organic veggies.

Right now, the space hosts occasional non-profit events and jam sessions, and in the future, it will open up to paying guests. Volunteers come not just to help with the project but to be part of a creative community, jamming in the evenings and immersing themselves in a musical, artistic, and nature-filled environment.

Because of the nature of this place, we ask that volunteers meet three key conditions:
    1. You play an instrument and are comfortable jamming.
    2. You have at least one feedback review on Workaway.
    3. You’re happy to be part of the community, meaning we all take turns with cooking and washing up.

If that sounds like you, keep reading 😊

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

This is a place where music, creativity, and nature come together. You might learn about organic farming, permaculture, and event hosting, but most importantly, you’ll likely be surrounded by musicians and artists, sharing ideas, collaborating, and exploring new creative possibilities.

    • Cooking: If you enjoy making vegetarian meals, that’s always hugely appreciated! We take turns cooking and cleaning up after meals.
    • Land maintenance: This can range from weeding to using heavy machinery to help clear and maintain the land.
    • Event preparation: Our jam events happen on the first Saturday of every month, so before and after, we need help setting up and tidying.

You don’t need prior experience in any of this—just a willingness to help out where needed.
