Description

I am a positive person who can spend countless days with my own thoughts, hobbies and activities but can just as well be an extrovert, social, share thoughts & ideas, co-exist and collaborate.

I am a very nature-inspired person who can walk among fields, mountains, rivers, constantly interpreting the landscape and experiences along the way into many creative outputs - sound design / art & photography, animation and music. I am a professional Graphic Designer by trade. I am also a musician.

I am an approachable person who likes to have both playful & meaningful conversations and discussions with the intention of sharing, learning and becoming a more wise and better human being for it.

My intention for doing Work Away is to step aside from what I have spent years learning and working at and to approach new practices with an open mind; to develop new skills; insights & relationships - to carve out a new way of living and working that may return life to a more natural, stress-free, simplistic and therefore healthy model.

I am a freelance multimedia designer. I would be happy to help and teach in areas of video, graphics design, photography, websites, social media and marketing.

I am also a musician who loves to harness sound from nature and general surroundings for digital manipulation and composition. I've recently invested in a Shruti box for vocal toning, meditation and therapy which I can also help people with.

I can also teach and work in many art practices such as collage, geli printing, mosaic-making, wood whittling and clay sculpture making.

I am a compassionate, patient and firm individual; a problem-solver capable of working on my own aswell as with groups of people.

I have basic construction and woodworking skills and can handle powertools with ease. These are areas that I would like to improve on as much as possible and am willing to help out at whatever is required.

I am an animal lover and carer who has pet-sitted many times in Ireland and Portugal. I have grown up with animals of all sorts from my early childhood and I feel this is therefore a natural skillset. I believe that building trust and compassionate relationships is best practice to ensure happiness and wellbeing of animals.

The goal of my WorkAway is to learn new skills and develop existing ones; connect with a diverse range of people from hosts to other travellers and to experience the world with fresh senses.

Trying new things is a must for me. I love to talk to people - sharing knowledge, viewpoints, stories and most importantly, having fun and laughing!! I am happy to help-out with whatever needs to be done and I am a positive person with a very clear outlook on life - that it needs to be lived NOW!

I want this experience to help my personal growth and development; extend my senses, perceptions and interpretation of the world. I wish to receive back what I put in - positive energy, frequency and vibration.

The stay with Mark was very pleasant to live with . he likes to talk about interesting things, very hospitable and easy to tell him how things work as he has very good attitude wich makes things easier.
hope next time we get to spend more time and finish up some more fun stuff. maybe even ride the bikes more

We were so blessed to have Mark here on the land with us for almost two weeks. Right from the beginning it was like being with an old friend. Mark is super inquisitive, open to learning, and respectful. We really enjoyed sharing life with him and so appreciated his input on so many levels.
