"WOW!" is what I think when I remember my time with Katie and Jojo. Sadly I was only able to stay for a short while due to having to go back home for the holidays to Pennsylvania, but I will hopefully be returning soon as I've been wanting to ever since I left last time! This Workaway experience is truly unique. Katie and Jojo have ample knowledge
… read more about cob building and desert living, and are super down to earth. Ask Katie to show you her artwork sometime too! It is beautiful. Out of all the workaways I've done before (6), this place really stuck out for the beauty of the location, the unmatchable vibe of the area and hosts, and of course the stars at night. I'm surprised they don't have more reviews because this Workaway experience was top notch! :)You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

We are so grateful for the experience we had staying with Katie and Jojo. The property is beautiful, spacious and they both were very accommodating. We enjoyed gathering mesquite pods from nearby trees, collecting herbs and elderberries to make jam and of course working with cob to help finish their buildings. Both of them have fun personalities
… read more that greatly compliments their knowledge of the world around them. The time spent with them is something we'll never forget and even though we took forever to leave a review we often refer back to our experience on the property and the things we learned. There's a special sense of peace there in watching the sky light up with stars, hearing the coyotes at night, and running into different animals like horned lizards and wild cows. They always showed appreciation and everything was done out of mutual exchange. Which made us feel like we were a part of their community for the time being. They were a great first workaway experience and we are forever grateful for you guys! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Naomi and Marie were amazing workawayers! They had tons of enthusiasm for our various projects, including processing berries, earth building, and fixing up our road. They were great communicators, always happy to pitch in, fast learners, and great at working both independently and in a group. It was wonderful being their first hosts, and we’re
… read more excited for their continued travels! They’re welcome back any time :)

Melissa and Mountain Laurel were wonderful to have out with us! Mountain Laurel was a great playmate for the other kids at our property, and even knew how to mud :) Melissa has a huge enthusiasm for earth building that was awesome to have around, and her previous experience and knowledge was very welcome! We hope to have them out again soon
