Description
Note : We are also open for families, joining longterm - living on the farm!
We are a family with four kids , aged between 4 and 12 and living the off grid life between cork-oaks and olives, in the middle of the beautiful Serra da São Mamede.
Before we settled we used to travel a lot and are loving it to meet and welcome new people!
One big aim of the project is to regenerate soil, live environmentally sustainable and reach self-sufficiency in more more parts of the farm. Since six years we are about to reforest a big part of the land, planted a foodforest, are experimenting with syntropical and agroforestry systems and trying to convert our land into a healthy and peaceful ecosystem.
That's being said, our second aim is to welcome travelling people and worldschooling families from all over the world - that's why they're normally even more younger and older humans around, which makes it really alive and diverse! Like this you are able to experience all year round, even if it's temporary, a glimpse of community life.
As our kids, and most time the kid's from the other families as well, are homeschooled be aware that the farm life is quite lively.
Finally there are still so many ideas in our heads to develop and make this place every day a bit nicer - that's why we are very happy about every enthusiastic hand which wants to support and create with us.
So if you are enjoying spending your days in the middle of nature, getting your hands dirty, feeling happy and fulfilled in the evening, being creative and independent or want to learn new skills - no matter if it's using carpentry tools, permaculture and plants knowledge or natural building technics - this is your chance !
Because of the sometimes busy and chaotic big family life it´s needed that you´re able to think, act and work independently and don´t mind to be on your own sometimes.Types of help and learning opportunities
