Family run farm mainly growing strawberries, which we are very passionate about. We also have raspberries, cherries and blueberries. We are looking for two gap year students to work July and August. The work would start early with strawberry picking, taking down polytunnels and then helping in the Pick Your Own kiosk which is also a café. Its a fun place to work although hard at times, yet it is very rewarding.
We have a very friendly atmosphere on the farm. In the fields you will work as a team and in the café/pyo kiosk you will be with one other sometimes more at busy times. We are a very happy bunch and our staff have been coming back for many years to pick strawberries. We are 15 minutes from the town where you can join the local activity groups. We have bicycles you can borrow.
This host offers accommodation and payment.
Seasonal strawberry picking, seasonal café and pick your own soft fruit kiosk, general farm work. Talking with customers, using the cash register, weighing fruit. Washing up by hand. Working outdoors in a team.
Caravan accommodation on the farm available. Its a double fitted with beds, table electricity and water. Its in good condition and comfortable. There is heating if needed. A shared communal kitchen where everyone socialises with the work colleagues. A shower block and laundry facilities. Work is paid but this doesn't include food.
Beautiful area near the coast and the New Forest. Many outdoor activities, sailing, hiking, horse riding, rowing, canoeing and paddle boarding. We have a branch train line just a few minutes walk linking us to main line to London and the rest of the UK. The ferry to the Isle of Wight is also minutes walk away.
