We have two projects happening at the same time. We have the original eco-hostel and we have a brand new farm which will be the new hostel.
For the new place we need help from people interested in bio-construction and landscaping. Ideally we want one person who has experience in woodwork or with powertools (or at least very willing to learn) and could dedicate a few months to the project.
The work in the original hostel could be cleaning, gardening, looking after goats, making beds, serving customers, maintenance, construction, social media, photography, yoga or entertainment. We take temporary volunteers for either two or four weeks.
We offer a free (large) breakfast and accommodation. For the other meals, we prefer volunteers to cook their own in the shared kitchen, but they can also order from the menu. We ask for 4 hours help per day. Volunteers can take 1 full day off per week, although they would need to help the first hour if they want breakfast.
There is loads to do in the area: hiking, rivers, waterfalls and extreme sports and you will plenty of time to do them during the day.
The hostel is remote but accessible, 10mins walk from the bus route. Buses pass every 15 mins to San Gil (15 mins away) , Barichara (20mins away) and Villanueva (20 mins away) .
We expect all our volunteers to treat their fellow workers, the hostel guests and our family with courtesy and respect. If they fail to do so (which is thankfully very rare) , they will be asked to leave.
